So, why is my ikon not keeping my tail servo settings of frequency I put in? All of a sudden I started having horrible tail servo oscillations. Plugged in the ikon and all the tail settings were not what I put in. Reset to factory then reloaded my file and it still wont keep them. Any suggestions?

You'll need to move to next panel before closing software to save settings. If you just set the tail freq and close the software it will not save.

In tail software page at the bottom. Is it necessary to set the rotation of the main? And what to the "precomp" setting do. Mine have been uncheck and seems fine.

Those settings are needed to fine tune the tail precomp. If you are happy with your tail performance than they are not needed.

Well for now my tail seems fine. I do very basic fast forward flight. If I punch the cyclic the tail will kick out a bit. I has a little small way to it. But it flys very well. At some point I would love to be able to fine tune the settings vs and make it super smooth. That's why I asked what they could do for me.

You are describing what those settings are designed to fix. By telling the system what direction your head rotates and turning on the precomps, it activates a set of parameters that will feed in tail input to counter torque when you load the disk, IE pump collective or input hard cyclic.

Once you enable these features you can fine tune their performance on the advanced menus.

If you heli is flying well just have a small kick I recommend you try it.

Sounds good Chris. Thanks for the input. I always envy the guys who say "locked in" and "smooth". My hurricane is good but I was always afraid of all those settings not knowing what might happen. This ikon is the first high end FBL I've ever had. I read these forums daily. I probably know more than I give myself credit for. Thanks again

Chris,

Would you point me to a video or thread that deals with advanced tail settings, please? (already read the one in the sticky section, but I have questions). I would like to see how different values affect tail behavior. I'm still trying to get the right stop and hold gains, but still, my 550's tail is not where I want it to be. I also need to see how tail asymmetry works.

Thanks!

hey chris thanks for the vid i'm newish to this but one question for you do you need the link programmer or can you just link to computer and use a castle card ?
I'm running the tracx from compass (which is brain, ikon anyway) in a warp360 thought I'd nailed till I saw this vid of yours . Also explains why the setup don't seem right although i'v been able to hover and fly round but tail not strong like it should be thanks

To properly setup the gov with a castle esc you will need the castle link.

You should be able to use castle link software by plugging USB cord into program card and computer.

I totally miss read his post, this is correct. If you have a Field programmer you are good to go.
