Default My first Logo, a Logo 10... which swash servos ?

I just ordered my first ever Logo, a Logo 10 plastic fantastic just to get my feet wet with something electric that's larger than my t-rexes.

Since I know nothing about them (and no one around me flies them) I googled the web and found the logoheli web site and it seems they mostly recommend the JR 3421 servos (metal gears). Does that seem like a good choice ? They're expensive but I'm after reliability and a proven track record so maybe they're worth it.

I've also ordered the different locking shaft collar after reading the comments about the standard collar. So much to learn....

thanks

The 9650 Futaba servos imho are better, and they are a more resonable price as well. Which version of the Logo 10 are you getting? Deluxe, carbon or 3D?

It's just the deluxe kit. If I like it I may get something better, or larger.

My current plans are to stick a small camera under it; but if it 3D's nicely the camera may never get mounted. I've been using a t-rex to haul the camera around but it's so small it gets very hard to see in the air so I wanted something a little larger.

I have a gasser for larger cameras but I seldom drag it out. I've been waiting for the larger electrics to come down in price (battery prices) and I finally can't wait any longer. I gotta try something so a Logo 10 is going to be my first little electric step beyond the t-rex's.

I think the LOGO 10 comes with a plastic swash, which sounds marginal but what do I know; should I upgrade it ? Or is there anything else I should upgrade right away ?

Any and all suggestions are appreciated. thanks, randy

Minimum get the clamp ring, get the #3030 slider fork to replace the one peice one that comes with the deluxe, and if you can afford it yes the metal swash is much nicer item. That will do you fine though, it will fly just fine otherwise.

Second the 9650's - they work great.

On the deluxe I think it is a good idea to order 4 ball bearings to replace the plastic bushings in the seesaw. May be that the bushings work well, but it feels more right to have some BB's there

The alu motor plate is another good worthy upgrade.(35 bucks) It will help kool the motor, as well as stiffen up the frame.

You will love your logo, no doubt!!!

I took the advice of several here and ordered a bunch of upgrades.... bearings, metal motor plate, metal flybar cage thingy, etc. etc... I probably should have just bought the 3D or the carbon; but I think I have all the upgrade goodies now so I'll start building and see what emerges. I'm still not crazy about the little plastic ball on the tail grips but I'll give it a shot and see if I can sleep at night knowing the little heli's life depends on an itty-bitty round nub of plastic.

I also just stocked up on parts for the first and second crashes at the rick's fire sale. What good timing.
