Does the TRM come with a Muffler ?? Just curious, I'm hoping I get everything I need to put this together.

Also what kind of Governor are you guys running ??

Mine came with the stock muffler for a g 23. I now have the hatori. What a difference.

Iwill use the revlock for a gas engine when its available.

The stock muffler that the motor comes with is adequate to do the job and will actually support the RPM, but your ears will hate you as well as the women and children for miles away!

So is the Hatori the hot ticket with the TRM231 for best power and a reasonable noise level?

We measured the sound levels of the Hatori at 67 fast idle and the highest it got in Idle-up was 87. These measurements were taken at 9 feet behind the heli so the pipe outlet was pointing directly at the db meter. It is quiet and seems to perform pretty well.

Hey Al,

Sure have, well almost. I've got some stuff on order and a Spectra G kit will be mine soon. I'll be doing the TRM231, Hatori, Spectra G. Camper fuel is available here in Korea and this is the land of the scooter so plenty of synth oil is out there. Sure will beat the heck out of the $30 a gallon 23% I've been flying.

Pete

One season the Spectra pays for itself easy! Last year was a 38 gallon year for me.

I burned about 12 gallons from September to November. My Spectra should be somewhere on the little brown truck along with the TRM231. I'll have to put up with a stock pipe till my funds recover But what I save on fuel will be Great !

Plus you can use the spectra with your camera mount Craig and not have to worry about oiling down your camera.

Yup that is the coolest, I am also expecting the Gasser to be able to lift a bit more than my 91 glow. I dont have any heavy cameras so it doesnt really matter that much. I will be using my Dimage 7i for still's and my Sony for Video. I will be using my el cheapo 2.4ghz ebay special spy camera as the downlink. I can tape it to the top of the camera and it should be close enough inline with the camera to let me know what the picture will look like. I still havent found the link for the apeture downlink, but I'll post it as soon as I find it again.

Little brown truck just left, YAAA I have my Spectra, unfortunately they no longer include a printed manual and I have no way to do any printing so I guess I'll have to spend the money at Kinkos and get a manual printed.

Quick question do you need to put sheilding on the plug wire ?? All the others I have seen have shielding but this one came with none ??

It should be in the Kit Craig. You don't have to put it on, many a heli has flown good without it, but why not, it is like a little extra insurance that yoiu will get no bleed off the high tension wire.

Yup the shielded plug wire is in the kit and will be used. It cost me $16.00 to get the Manual printed 67 pages and the Diagrams 40 pages. Not too bad.

So far I have finished the head build up, then I had to go chop ice in my Grandparents driveway so I didnt get much done. Tomorrow I should finish the build up and may even fire it up suppose to be in the 50's.

I would love to test fly this weekend and I just might do it so long as its not too cold for this southern boys watery blood

Anyway I am doing a complete review article on the kit and engine lots of photos and it will probably go to the AMA Magazine if they are interested.

More to come Stay Tuned !

Craig

Unfortunately Model Aviation reserves the rights on all articles submitted and they become the property of Model Aviation. I will try to put a stipulation on it that after it is published I am allowed to post it where I want on the Internet. Dont know if they will buy off on that but I'll try.
