I changed recently from a 1,000mAH battery and a Gaui (Align) BEC to a Dimension Engineering SportBEC. I did this for 3 reasons 1 - to save weight and 2 I had heard a couple of reports of people's Rx batteries failing with disasterous affects and 3 a BEC seemed like less points of failure than a lipo and BEC

Mike.

To be honest I'm not certain - I only have Analogue servos - I just went by the recommendations on the Dimension website

SportBec would probably be fine but if you are worried get a WesternRobotics Hercules 5A unit.

i use the align 3 amp bec with digi servos all around, no issues as of yet. but i've not flown this heli too much so we'll see. plenty of h550 owners use 3 amp bec's with no problems.

Just my opinion and experiance, I still use the stock BEC from Gaui, got about 60 to 70 flights
on my hurri, but no problems (yet)

I use Futaba S3152's on swash and a Logictech 2100T with a LTS-6100G on tail...

Do you mean to say you have had no problems with the separate transmitter battery plus Gaui regulator? I haven't heard of a stock Gaui Battery Elimination Circuit, but it is clearly possible.
