Default Link lengths for jr 8917 servos.

I'm converting my logo 700 over to vbar control setup.

Has been flying great for quite some time , over 100 flights.

Had a recent crash and rebuilt it , 17 flights since rebuild.

One of my observations on the rebuild was that the edge 713 blades felt different then the first set. Seemed to load the motor up more. Thought it was up to slight variances between batches. Fellow flier has felt slight differences between sets on his swe blades.

So for the vbc need to go thru and do another mechanical setup.

Trying to find 0 pitch to fine tune swash for level and I have +5 degrees pitch ! at mid stick.

5 degrees I could darn near hover with, so I'm wondering what could have possibly changed.

I've got the one link to the head marked as master and a corresponding mark on the swash and grips to make sure it goes back together the exact same way every time.

Checked over the book on both my 700 and 800 and the links to the swash are as per book of 33mm , links to head are 30 as per book. These settings will give me 5 degrees at center. Checking the 800's I have here also and there 33mm to swash and 27mm to grips.

To get the 700 to 0 pitch I'm going to have to go longer on the links to make it work.

Is it possible for a heli to fly close to what it was before with a 5 degree pitch error ?
I can see 1-2 degrees making it feel off but 5 has got to show up.

The only other possibility is that the new mainshaft has the hole drilled a slight bit differently than the old one. I'd love to confirm that but I'm trying to curb my hording of old useless parts and threw it out.

Martin

Default

did you use center fine on the VBC?. also you can adjust the zero pitch on the vbar radio, without tampering with the links. also if you want good mechanical setup, you can shorten the link from swash to blad grip. instead of enghting the servo to swash links.
