I'm going to stick with the stock Align 70 Amp ESC for now. I don't need to plink down a hundred or so bucks for another ESC, right now.

I ran a 17 T on my ESP with a Hyperion 1400...it is a Lipo killer for sure! I went to a 16 T and now it's better. This power house motor should be pretty crazy!

Yep the recall was on the ICE HV, but it is not just the HVs that have problems. Like a lot of other folk I also had my heli (Trex500) burn due to my ICE 100 (non HV) catching fire. Here's the pic.

When I spoke to the CC tech support he informed me they had a number of the non-HV ICE units returned due to fires.

There's also the poll where the standard (non HV) ICE has "blown"...https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=308351&page=4

I remember that thread too, I posted in it also. From that, I'm very afraid to build a big electric... Thanks for the info Heli G!

@NCraig

How did the test go with the stock Align 70A ESC? I have a 500M with the stock 70A ESC and I'd like to test this setup too. Doesn't seem like the 70A ESC will be big enough though... how much flight time are you seeing? what packs are you running? and what pinion? Please share your experience with this little monster!

Thanks!

Sorry, I haven't had a chance to get it put back together and test her out yet. I have been slammed the last two days. I'll try to get it finished up, today and give her a run on Sunday. I don't think Irene is going to cooperate with my flying schedule for tomorrow.
.
I'm running a 3300 30C Sky lipo pack and am starting off with a 15T pinion. I don't do any 3D stuff, yet, so I figured that would be a good starting point.
