Look at the 2S Hyp 180 mAh battery holder from Astroid.

The Astroid Design in-line 120SR tail motor holder. It work really nice.

Dylan, the fin is too short for this tail holder. We need a longer one.

Wow. Gonna get an mcpx soon. Your heli is my inspiration but I do not think I have the skills or knowledge to build like you. Respect!

Hello from Moscow! Here's my BL mCPx, I hope it has some new parts for this thread

Small TDR canopy made without glue and landings with moved slightly to front battery mount:

And signal converter developed by Russian and Ukrainian guys. Based on PIC10F202 micro controller. Quite cheap, gives very precise throttle curve and working good with connecting to main motor FET's gate, so you don't need to extend signal wire to the other side of the main board:

Also tried the Walkera Genius tail - motor, mount, rotor.

Fits very well, but unfortunately is not strong enough.

Yes, You're right Cool canopies - very light, but quite easy to damage.
Yours looking badass!! But what about it's visibility with trees/buildings at background? Orange really helping my eyes

Hi,
yes - orange should help, hopefully.
Did not fly this heli with this canopy (and orange blades) outside yet - was only for foto shooting.
But flew it with white KBDD blades, double tail, and Frank Lachmund canopy in white/yellow (old version, no TDR) and its a little rocket
Weather is very bad for outdoor flying here now (rain and wind, and sun sets early), so difficult for me.
Hope very much I'll be able to try it on Sunday and weather will be fine.

Cool conversion of yours - and of course I would also like a orange canopy (did not want the flames on mine - I told Frank - because I wanted a "bad black" heli ).
Is there any advantage giving the converter power directly from the board and not from the ESC?

I am doing hard flying with new canopies, you are right, quite expensive and break easily. So sometimes (if nobody is around) I use old canopies for flying and the new ones only for showing of my mCP xs

BTW:
Landing gears of Frank Lachmund are also quite cool, but break easily, too - and are hard or not to repair.
In my first one the battery mount ring broke - this was no problem, could use a rubber ring easily.
But when the skids broke, it was not possible to repair the gear anymore.

Actually he does not have any on Ebay. You can also ask and order via Email. You have PM.
Price is 32 € (~ 44 US$) + shipping for canopy and skids.

I keep waiting for a 1s version of the phoenix. PC programmable esc with gov mode. I'm spoiled with it as is on the 450 and 600.

Some really nice setups here. Great place to get ideas on mounting and wiring. For now I'll grab the standard xp7A with a C05 to start out with and move from there. Waiting for the microheli frame to come back in stock.

I don't think the governor in a 1S esc will work just as well that in a 2S speed controller.
For the same power output, the current required in a 1S speed regulator is too high for the small mCP X battery, even for the best lipos, too much voltage drop at 3,7 volts.

In my two cells model, I have a maximum thrust that comes to 270 grams.
It's a thrust that comes into play only when the governor pushing to keep up to speed.
With my most powerful one cell mCP X, I have about 180 grams, which would make a great difference for the governor, compared to 270 grams.

Anyway, have you some news about the release of a one cell Phoenix?

Both of my brushless MCPX's. CO5, TheSteve and 7A esc. One is using a 8T pinion and other is 9T. So far I prefer the 8T. 41g with battery. Stock weight before mods was 45.6g.

I agree with you on gov mode with 1s. Current spikes would probably kill it's accuracy, although I'm curious if it could work with some concessions. I'll have to run some numbers and see what comes up. The biggest boon for me on the phoenix though was always the high program-ability. I haven't heard anything yet about a 1s version, even though I think Castle used to make a 1s esc for micros.

Just put in for a club heli kit. Knowing me I'll find some way to tinker with it
