Hi DKTek.. you're running the v0.53 firmware ( Build shows 0053 )

Please download and install v0.55 from my site, and all will be OK.

DX7.. there seems to be an issue here.

Since your PS1 mount uses 360 servos, then... you're bound to use the 'self stabilizing' mode.. ie.. feedback on position is by having Picloc at the camera plate...

like picture attached

Attention: Safety !!: during setup, start with Tilt, then Roll, doing one channel at a time. disconnecting any other servos.

To determine stabilization 'sense' , use small amounts of Proportional gain only for first tests... small values like 50-100, and having finger ready on 'Servo Reverse' button "[R]" in the Servo tab of the relevant channel.

Use Tilt in arow direction in the 'Options' tab, but beware... there is still a bug in Toolz.. the name of the GAIN tabs ( TILT and ROLL do not change for this orientation) and are reversed...
ie.. First TAB GAIN is supposed to be ROLL, and second tab is TILT.

This is fixed in Toolz v0.56 that will be coming very soon.

Thanks for Patience!!
After a while, Toolz becomes second nature

Sorry to sound so alarming and so many remarks in the above post.
The above procedure is a once only DO... till Picloc gets proper stabilization 'sense'.
Just wanted to make sure you are aware of the above points.

You can do both orientations for now...the servo reverse will be your determining button

If you want, you can also do Arrow pointing to ROLL.

However, I believe, that on your mount, arrow = tilt is the most space saving.

oups now i undestood the previous post.. yeap tilt is better...!!

I think that you must do something in order to put it on bottom or to have the usb input on bottom side or on the right or left side..!

Yes.. of course... a lot of people as asking for orientation USB=pointing down.
This will be available soon.

Only issue I have right now is how to make calibration (seem) easy in this orientation.

Thanks George, that was the ticket and all is working. I chose radio type i1-i5. Now, to test fly it.

My DX7 seems fine but if you think there's further issues, Please post a video for all to reference.

Just wanted to make sure that your DX7 works when used with the DSM socket in Picloc.

I've had a Skype call with an esteemed customer, telling me that his DX8 wasn't working.

After a lot of tests, it turned out that his DX8 radio was set to 22ms frame rate ( Switch on DX8 with Menu Roller pressed)
Current Firmware in Picloc, recognizes and works well only with the faster and more accurate 11ms framerate.

So.. Don't know if the DX7 works well with Picloc as the firmware is right now.

Hello,
anybody tried setting up Picloc on PS1 3XPRO gimbal with SM-S4303R servos?

I have those servos on tilt and pan. Those are continuous rotation servos, so I supposed to place Picloc on camera plate like George recommend in previous post. But in this case, after applying any P-gain, stabilizations starts to work, but I can move camera plate only in very limited range.

Thanks for any recommendations...
Stepan

Sounds like a software setting. I have those servos too but no unit to test with just yet.

Change to slew mode... you are probably using proportional
Functions-> Slew Setup ->

Slew mode was the trick! :-)

Ok, next question: if I set ATV to 90 (on tilt axis, I want to look right down), it doesnt stop on 90 degrees and make complet circle. Setting to ie 86 works and is OK for me, so just asking...

I dont understand what is Decay on Gain tab, plese can somebody explain?

Stepino,
During tests.. the ATV worked fine for me... but I'll check again.
For now, can you please increase it to 100 degrees ( a little bit beyond straight vertical ?)
I am away right now and cannot check for you with a Picloc.

>>I dont understand what is Decay on Gain tab, plese can somebody explain? <

That is actually a typo there...
The Decay ( dampening ) was a filter that could be applied on the servo output.
But after many tests it was felt that it was unnecessary, because filtering only reduces the servo's speed, and hinders ( slows ) stabilization.
So the same slider was used for another function... ATV limit on the Smooth ( which is also another Typo ).

**When using 360 Servos**, Smooth actually works like an error adjuster. When there is an error ( servo lag) between your demanded slew angle, and what the gimbal is undergoing, this slider will actually drive the servo harder to maintain correct angle. If the servo is too slow for the movement, this error correction 'value' can grow very big !!, and therefore the "Decay slider" is used to Limit this value so that it is present, but does not grow into a very big number to overshoot it's target point.

My suggestion... please experiment and observe what each slider does with a standard ( preferably fast) servo, and then apply what you learn from the behavior you see, to what your camera mount needs.
This is probably best explanation, because there is no fixed setting for all the combinations of gimbals in existence.
People who fly craft with rotors, are usually some of the most intelligent, mechanical-electonic minds, who can understand what needs to be done when they observe something.

George, what is the input voltage acceptable range?
