Brushless Motor Calibration
I've got everything hooked up correctly for the brushless sensor (at least I think so). I am getting readings on the rpm, but they are WAY off. It's saying 3000ish when I know it's probably around 2100. When it asks for the poles, I am taking that from the Scorpion 890 data and entering 12. Then on the gear ratio conversion, I am taking the 170 tooth main pinion for a trex 600 and dividing by the 13T pinion I have.
Any suggestions for what I might be doing wrong here?

I'm having the exact problem .....
Trex600 with 12s scorpion 4025-630 (8 poles) Main gear 115T - Pinion 11T - ratio=10.454545 ESC Kontronik Jive 120+ I have swithed the wires between the ESC and Motor a few times...... I even tried it with a different motor (4035-630 with 10 poles) but the same problem. when my friend download the data on his laptop he gets the same readings.... So i think there is nothing wrong with the software or laptop. With a Skytach gauge I get ; 2130 rpm.... BUT THE EAGETREE says 3400 rpm.... i'm sure the Eagletree is wrong. But WATs the PROBLEM ??????? Please help me..... Marco

I think the problem lies with the Kontronic, I solved my problem by just using one wire for sensor. You need to test what wire and to what cable on the motor.

Hey guys, I have the Eagle Tree software reading the motor with the brushless sensor but I don't understand what each of the calibration settings do. Could somebody please help?
The motor has 32 magnets, 16 pair poles. The motor has an internal gear reduction ratio of 5:1 The wheel diameter is 20" RPM (at the wheel) should be about 140, multiplied by 5 this is 700 at the motor. The readings I'm getting are in the thousands though. For more info on my project: Wiring for the Mountain Wheelchair is Coming Along | Mountain Wheelchair |
