Default SK540 Malfunctioning?

Hello,

My heli started to drift a little last Thursday, so last night I took the head off to make sure the swash is leveled. I noticed several things:

1. The swash was not leveled (since the last crash, I didn’t change anything). It wasn’t off by much, but it did require adjustments
2. While working on the heli, which was connected to laptop via USB – I noticed sudden jerks (servo movements), even though I didn’t press ‘send’, neither did was I moving the TX stick. It was not happening all the time, but it did happen more than once.
3. When I went out to the field this morning to test … good thing I checked direction of the servos, the elevator servo direction was not right (collective was correct, aileron was OK, but when I would try elevator – it was going the wrong way).

I have read that when folks here upgraded to 4.02 - some were having issues with servo reversing, that didn't happen to me. My transition to 4.02 went fine without any hitches. I am wondering if the unit is malfunctioning. Is there any way I can check if my SK540 is OK?

Thank you in advance … cheers

Did this happen after upgrading? Or just after a crash?

I would clear it and do a fresh setup. It's so easy anyways. Perhaps your servo arm jump a few splines in the crash? Better check them too.

I did the upgrade almost a month back. About two weeks back the belt broke, i had a semi-hard landing which basically messed up the main bearings and the linkages.

I had already done the fresh restart after the crash.

You upgrade to what a couple of months back? V4? That only came out around a month ago. Maybe try a fresh set up once more? I dunno. Are you on the latest V4.02 software?

For the record: While there is a V4.02 GUI, the gyro firmwares are all still V4.00.

My already upgraded Sk720 just did the exact same thing this afternoon when I was resetting the gyro for my gov issues. I had a rash of elev servo reverse issues earlier with all my Skookums, I thought was my new Jeti system, turns out it may not have been? Just clean out the settings by setting the unit to basic 3d or whatever and go through the wiz again, or maybe save the settings first or copy them down? Then reinstall your settings. I chose to do mine manually. My servo elev reverse cleared right up when I did this today. Also make sure, absolutely sure the gyro is reacting to fore aft elev movements correctly. Mine was reacting the opposite in spite of my settings being correct.
