Cool looking heli. Anyone know why the boom diameter is so big?

Boom diameter
There are a couple of reasons for the larger than "typical" boom diameter.
1) For those that don't use 2.4ghz radios, the increased boom diameter helps eliminate static discharge from the rubberized belt. This offers less radio glitching. 2) Notice that there are no tail boom supports!! 3) You can use old 50 sized tail booms and cut them down to size for the Atom 500. I have a slightly bent boom from my knight 3D set aside to recycle into an Atom boom when needed. 4) The manufacturer can keep keep final costs competitive by eliminating one more unique material/part for kit production. If they can use the same stock as all the other helicopters in their product line up, final savings gets passed onto the customer. Every consumer benefits from this. Even if they fly the competition, Compass is forcing the prices down within the market. Tyler |
