Default Hello From Atlanta!

TL;DR: Just started, currently flying a FP single rotor w/ flybar, looking to move onto a beginner CP FBL (RTF) for under $400.

Quick rundown of how I got started. Bought a Alany Mosquito years ago, it never flew therefore I didn't get to experience the joy of flying a heli. Fast forward to last Christmas, I bought each of my three nephews a Syma S107G as it had the best reviews on Amazon and were only $20 a pop. I decided to test fly each one before giving them as a gift to make sure they worked properly and so they would be charged and ready come Christmas morning. All flew great out of the box, and I was surprised how easy they were to fly. Ordered me one the next day.

A week later I ordered a Syma S033G as I figured bigger was better, but that thing is a boring chunk of plastic, and too weak to fly in the lightest of breezes. Didn't do much for a few months, both helis collected dust, then my oldest nephew came by with the S107G I had given him and I flew it once and got mine charged and this time the bug bit. I decided I wanted to move on to something more advanced, but to take it slowly. I purchased a MJX F645 single rotor with flybar, and I'm having a blast, but hit a power line yesterday and now I'm waiting on parts. I'm still going to wait a bit before moving to a collective pitch, but I want to start looking and get all the research out of the way. I don't know much, but I've been lurking these forums trying to figure out what would be a good beginner CP that won't break the bank and is forgiving on crashes. I've been looking at a Walkera 450D03, but I keep reading hate for Walkera in general, but at the same time, reading good things about this certain model. Any suggestions? I don't have a TX yet, so I'm looking for a RTF heli, would like to keep it under $400, because I'm sure I will destroy it.

Welcome to HeliFreak.

Can't really help you with the RTF's, maybe look at the Blade 450 line.
But IMO it's better to build a kit for many reasons.
