What are the pinion options, is there away to gear it so 80 throttle is 3000 hs or do we rely on the electronics and live with less than optimum gearing?

Presently, pinion options are 16T, 17T, or 18T

gothicbunny or shogun71 saw everything from 50% to 100% on my Warp 360 last night, I'm sure they'll tell you how they feel about it ...

I'm going to take different tach with me today to double check my headspeeds - after running some numbers, they do seem a bit off.

Stock pinion is 17T?

Your tach may be overly enthusiastic...please double check.

I agree now after doing the calculations. I'm going to run a different tach today and I'll report back in my headspeed thread.

Its a pulley, so probably Al, does not need to be hard, just harder than the rubber of the belt.

Might not need to be hard but aluminum strips too easily, for the minuscule weight difference steel would be more ideal for pinions.

Its a pulley, it wont strip, more than 1/3rd of the teeth are engaged. Nothing like a gear drive.

I meant the setscrew hole stripping, not the teeth itself.

I wouldn't be worried about that... I've got mine tightened down good and have removed it several times now while diagnosing the motor noise.

And it's a 450, not a G700.
Can't see the loads required to shred an aluminum pulley being reached on a platform this size.

If it is aluminum ore soft steal it would be easy to drill up the hole to 5mm with a simple drillpress.

There was a highjack of this thread due to some helicopter aerodynamics theory, this is a link to a thread I started in response. https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...34#post4532334
