Jive 80hv appears dead :-(
Having just built a fusion 50 with a second hand jive 80hv, everything was well for the first 15 flights, but then unfortunatly the elevator control arm came loose causing a boomstrike, i managed to hit throttle hold immediately, and put it down in a very high corn field, so there was no damage at all to the ESC.
After having rebuilt it, imagine my surprise when i now find out that the jive isnt responding to anything, no flashing, no beeping, no BEC power, no nothing I have tried several Things: removing motor wires removing bec cables putting jumper in but all to no avail. Any suggestions ?? |

When you crashed did you hit throttle hold immediately?

No opinions on this guys? cant help but feeling a little bit disappointed as i cant understand why a top notch ESC can die like this, seing as the jive took no physical damage in the crash, and neither did any wires or servos or batteries, this in my mind leaves only current overload in either the esc or bec part of the jive, but its my understanding that the jive is protected against these things?
Seeing as i bought the jive secondhand, out of warranty and without a receipt, is there any point in trying to explain the situation to kontronik? |

The unit is over 2 years old im afraid, so if kontronink are very rigid about that, why bother?
Guess im just genuinly dissapointed in the product, as i cant for the life of me figure out why it could die like this, i mean a boomstrike where throttle hold was used immidieatly, and after that landing in a very high corn field, and the heli didnt even touch the ground ( canopy came out without a scratch ) |

I mean its worth sending an email into kontronik repair and see what they say. They may offer you a new one at discounted price depending on the issue. not guaranteeing they will because its out of the 2 year period but its worth a shot.
have you checked all your other electronics with a separate battery? maybe a servo bound up and killed the bec or receiver.
