Thanks MikeG,
I want to break mine in, but I am not sure how many tanks to to fly in normal mode of about 1600hs?
I am using RotorRage 15%.
I also have 30%, but the manual makes no mention of the use of anything higher than 15-20% for break OR normal flights. YS did not give me any extra head gaskets for the SRX.

Here's what I do, right or wrong.

A couple hovering flights to get things started. On the 3rd flight, fly around a little and begin adjusting the needles. 4th flight start doing light 3D and continued tuning. 5th flight on, fly the crap out of it.

Also, I would run 15% in the 120, it just runs real good on it.

Oh my god!
The Big Block YS-120SRX has so much power....
I converted my Raptor G4.1 into a Raptor N820.

Here a pic. of the new canopy.

In my opinion has the YS120SRX the max. power/torque between 14.285 and 15.188 RPM with a gear ratio of 8.21 (1740 and 1850 rotor rpm (Raptor G4.1/Raptor N820)).

What about parts for the SRX, are some of the parts from the SR interchangeable, like the piston, conrod, head gasket, rear bearing?

I think the bearings are the same for OS .91, 105, YS .91, 120.

I think the pistons are different between the SR and SRX.

I bet the head gasket is the same.

No idea about the rest.

Default New YS 120SRX

Couple of quick flights on the YS120SRX, bit rusty on the sticks but really happy with the engine, will drop a shim out as well (running two currently), tad lean on mid/idle, easy fixed though

Hi Brendan78,

nice flight! IMO has the YS120SRX much more power with a gear ratio 8.21.

Raptor G4.1 with N820 Canopy and YS120SRX (6 min 18 sec)

Raptor G4.1
Gear ratio 8.21
Outside temperature 90'F
Rapicon 30

I spoke with Hatori USA, but not much help, not much was clear really. I asked how many pipes were made for the YS 120, replied "only one" really!
Ok what about the Tim Jones pipe?
"well that I think was custom for the YS 120" what about a pipe for the 120SRX?
"We released a pipe for engine 3 weeks ago"
Which one is that?
"the SB-23FH"
???
I have the SB-23FH-3D-3

If you carefully read both the srx and sr manuals, you can see that the difference is on the crankshaft. So I figure that the pipes made for the sr work with the srx...

I run it with the hatori 120-3d from RC japan...
