Default What's next for synergy

I have recently got into the helicopter scene and have had a few smaller cheap helis and got bit by the heli bug. I'm from mn and went to a local hobby shop and they mainly deal with synergy and it seems there is a strong following around here. I recently picked up an n5c and I am extremely happy with the design and the overall quality is better than any heli Ive seen so far. My question is, what is the next heli synergy will come out with? I know they won't do a 450 but I think it would be really cool to make a smaller light weight 30 size nitro. Something cheap on fuel and crash costs. Anyone have an idea of what Matt will come out with next?

That has been the official Synergy stance for some time. However, I imagine that it must be difficult for Synergy to ignore the initial enthusiasm for the KDS Chase and now the record breaking pre-orders for the Goblin 380.

I'd like to see a 550 Nitro powered by a .55-.60 engine. It baffles me as to why this has not been done yet.

Semi-related: Matt, please make some 350 or 360 blades. Signed; everyone with a modern 450 machine.

Maybe a "real" 450 machine not like the trex 450 which is a 320!!

+100 might as well ditch the 325s and go with 350-360

I have been thinking about taking a N7 airframe and modifying it a bit to accept parts from the n5c and putting a 91 in it but flying 626s or the 90 class gt15hz that would be a cool factory bird but i know thats not something that a lot of people would by and Matt is about designing helis that would sell. I was thinking he might build a purpose built 700 class speed heli with a full fuse, that scene seems to be taking off.

I would opt for a 20cc over the 15cc. The 20 is just able to do 3D with good collective management. I am just speaking from my own experience with a radikal though

if OS hadnt just discontinued the .37, i would want to see Matt make a .30 nitro too. but with that happening, i just dont see it happening.....that is a great size machine though!

I agree, with how big the market is for these 360-380 sized machines I don't see how Matt can afford not to get a piece of that market. I've heard comments how a synergy machine that size wouldn't compete because it would be too expensive and how there are already big contenders already running that market. I don't see how synergy couldn't produce a machibe with a competitive price. Look at the new goblin at $400(you can get an e5 for $550 and it's almost twice the helicopter not to mention far superior in quality), $300 for the warp and also the chase, I know that's up there too. Make a 380 machine less than $400 and I bet they would sell tons of them. It's been almost a year since synergy has released a new model, come on Matt, give us a 380.

It can be done quite easily. Swap the boom/control rod/tt. Change the tail gear ratio to the slower 4.5:1. Grab some 620 size blades and go to town.

The key part I've been waiting for is the larger 21t pinion, but that's sort of in Limbo right now. Since the GT15 was sort of a flop, the demand for it evaporated. The pinion is needed for 600 size RPMs without over-revving the engine.

I can't get the thought of a wound up 600 with a modded 1+ cu In. engine in it. I have a strong feeling it'll be a lot like flying an electric (very similar weights and disc loading), but for 7 minutes.

Anyone want to speculate as to what sort of release(s) we can expect from Synergy this year? Perhaps another E model or a new version of the N5?

Default Can an E5 be "shrunk" instead of extended?

This may be a dumb question....but there is always lots of discussion about how an E5 can be turned into a 600 size AND a lot of discussion about people wanting Synergy to make a true 450 class heli.....

Has anyone ever considered the reverse of lengthing, that is of turning a 550 into a 450? Could our Heli Freak engineers point out obstacles and pathways to "shorten" an E5 so that it would swing 380-420 mm main blades but keep the majority of components stock?

Boom and tail rotor control rods would need to be shortened...what else would be needed to make the gender change?

The E5 frame is just to big to make a plausible 450.

+1

it can be flown as a 700 (the E5 that is....), it is way to big and going to be to heavy for a 450.

I remember while building my E5 I went to a hobby shop and saw the store owner's Trex 600. The E5 airframe was just as big if not a little bigger in some ways.
