Default any difference between 700/800 mechanics?

Couple questions for anyone that owns both a 700 & 800 or for someone just in the know.

Curious to know what if any are the differences between the 700 and 800 in the following areas:
  • head
  • tail gear box
  • boom diameter
  • drive train

Looking to do an AP conversion with custom frames and just trying to decide which kit would be the best starting point.

Thanks!

  • head: the 700 head is smaller than the 800 (but still quite stout for a 700 class head), but for AP use (low head speeds), it is certainly strong enough to handle 800 class blades.
  • tail gear box: Same.
  • boom diameter: Same.
  • drive train: Same.
The 700 and 800 are largely made from the same parts. What's different on the 700, is the frames are cut smaller, the head is smaller, the boom is shorter, and the canopy is smaller. Other than that, everything I can think of off hand between the two helis is compatible.
