Default dx6i button stoped working

hi all just a quick post
so has anyone had issues with the menue selection turny button thingy. mine stoped working.i carefully took it apart and a small bit of wd40 into the button and now its fine just wondering if its on its was out and needs to go in for a service

It sounds like your roller had a mechanical wear, so you may me OK with WD40 here, especially because it's not a flight-control device.

WD40 isn't a lubricant or contact cleaner, it's meant as a water-dispersant (hint: WD). It'll dry up to an insulating film so I'd give it a blast of electrical contact cleaner and get that WD40 out of it as soon as you can.

Yes, I find that the roller/click on mine can be a bit hit-and-miss. Fortunately, it's not too bad so, being a non-flight control, I just live with it when it plays up.

WD40 is great at getting water out or even freeing up rust.....but as a lubricant or contact cleaner, it is poor at best and from an electrical point of view, can easily do more harm than good!

(Pretty much the same for 3 in 1, although it is slightly better., as "one" of the "3" is lubrication).

switch cleaner is on my shopping list now ..i just remembered from the honeybee days of using it to clean the pots when they went crankey.
