Default wood blade plastic cracks

Hi
The plastic coating on my wood blades is cracking but the blades themselves seem to be ok when I twist them. Is this OK, normal after some flights?
thanks, John

Did you have a blade strike on the ground or hit something mid air that caused the wrap on the blade to tear?

No strikes. I was only hovering about 4 packs and I noticed that there were ripples on them and cracks across them not lengthwise.

I just use thin CA to tack it back down, not the prettiest but it works. Since the wood can soak up alot of CA, you might want to rebalance the blades.

Default wood blade plastic cracks

Even mowing a little grass will crack it.

If they're "rippled" you can try applying a bit of heat to them with a heatgun or hair dryer. But just caution so you don't apply too much. That will shrink the covering back up.

If it's cracked, then you could try to apply some monokote and then rebalance them out.

Outdoor temp changes on those wood blades has a fairly negative effect on the covering, and the actual airfoil as well.
