AP Ship Settings (electric)
Hey all,
So out of necessity I am building a TREX Trekker with the new Align Gimbal and stabilization. Which brings me to why I have gone this direction. I presently fly a turbine Heli for Aerial Video/Photo and need to add a quiter platform for more residential and city filming environments. (believe it or not, some people just don't understand the beautiful sound of freedom a turbine heli makes....go figure) Now I have all the power I need when flying the turbine and carrying heavier loads, as well as very long flight times when required.. I do have a TREX 600 EFL DFC that I occasionallly get to fly but not very much experience on electric AP ships and large loads, batteries and short flight times. So I was wondering if you, my fellow aerial video freaks that fly these birds would care to share your suggestions for how you did your setups, curves, existing performance results, and any other info that would help me decide what I need to add to make this birds performance top shelf. Thanks All. EP |

I do not have a ALIGN 800, so I can not suggest directly on how to improve on it.
I can tell you, I have a custom K-Frame spinning SAB 980MM ASYM blades. Max carrying load is 13.6 Kg. When setup.. flight times are 30 minutes + but tend to be quite tiring.

I have read so many different accounts of less than 10 minute flight times and then the other side that 30 minutes are easily done, so its nice to hear fo someone doing it. Thanks EP |

Flying 30 mins can be tiring I agree, but I do like th ability to do it when filming. So what are you running for power system/battery combo to get those kind of flight times on an electric?

Thanks EP Running a Scorpion 5020-450 on 12S 10,000MA Turning a 164T main gear with a 10T pinion, But having a 2 stage belt drive made up for a stronger drive train. Also a 2S 5000MA flight pack to power the electronics. Though you need to keep in mind that in order to get close to these times, payload weight needs to be at an absolute minimum.
