Interesting that you noticed this too. Of all the amazing things I saw at IRCHA this was one of the best. The one I saw was flown by an Israeli kid who looked to be about 15 and didn't speak a lot of English. He flew it like a madman and when he finished there was one of the Gaui officials who started fussing at him that there were no other prototypes and no spare parts. Anyway, it looked to fly great and what little info I got was that it had an OS37 with 500mm blades. I'd love to get my hands on one to fly in the back yard. steve.

If I had known that, I would have tried getting the crowd to start cheering for blade scrapes and 5inch off the ground tic tocs

Count me in the crowd of super excited folks. The idea of a nitro that sips fuel, performs great, and is itself not a crazy expensive affair is freaking awesome.

I have a long standing love for nitro from 10 years of rc cars. To have a nitro heli that I also came to love would be excellent

Default Etian

Yeah, that name sounds about right. I would have been happy to talk to him more, but the Asian guy from Gaui wouldn't stop fussing at him in broken English on one side, and his dad was on the other side working on him in Hebrew to get moving and get out of there. Pretty funny as I think back on it. I felt a little sorry for the kid, but he did a great job of flying about 3 inches off the deck. I had a Raptor 30 in the day and it would bog if I did more than 3 flips in a row, but the X4 with 500mm blades flew like a 90 with no bogging at all. Some of that has to do with this old man's less than perfect skills and Etian's talent, but it looked to be a great combination. steve.

The X4 has 425mm blades guys, just like the X4.....
So it's a 425 blade heli with a 550mm blades sized motor. That's why it does so hard.

This has to be the worlds heaviest 500 then... might be fun for smack but disc loading is going to be a bit excessive.

Without knowing the AUW this is just speculation.
I'm truly excited about this heli.

Not so much.. IMO I think it's a needed platform. If you think of it when trying things from the first time that you learned on the sim with a nitro you have more flight time and with the size you wont be to afraid to send it in.

The weight of a .37 nitro engine? How much does a typical .30 heli weigh?

Perhaps this isn't a typical .30 heli?
