Default Governor mode any success?

Hi guys,

Tried using gov on my TDR with HW120HV and align motor 700MX 530 kv.
The tail is wagging were before with fixed end points it was solid.

Do you know how to remedy that?

This is using mid timing (5), 12 kHz PWM. Tried 1600 RPM and 1900 RPM with same results. Governor high of course
TT GT5 flybarless system

Any insight appreciated!

Hi!

Some ESC brands are problematic with governor mode, and cause tail wag. I had such an experience with an Align ESC, and IIRC, Castle ESCs have this problem too.

My Trex500E had this problem, and I replaced the ESC for a Hobbywing 80A, now the governor works like a charm.

The cheapest way is to turn the governor off, I was about to do that, but as my Align ESC bursted into flames during a bench test, I had to order another ESC anyway...

Cheers!

Does it do that on all the settings? What about if you turn the gov gain down?

From what I have observed, ANY gov is going to wag if it's set too high.

Looks like you're right - you get to choose low or high.

Wonder how is that supposed to work?? All the others that I've used needed adjustment to get set correctly. 8^)
