Default Trimming down cables on ESC?

Hi!

Just got my new Jeti Mezon 130 12S.. The cables to the motor is a bit long.. Is it safe to trim down cables a bit before I solder the bullet connectors?

Sure, you could cut them down...its probably just me but generally I don't cut cables down on an ESC due to the possibility that I might need them longer again for something else down the road.

Your ESC though, so your decision

Been there, done that...

I like to trim down cables, but I usually use the full length until I have flown the helicopter for a while. When I'm confident that the placement of electronics and all that is optimal, I trim down the cables.

That esc fits in there nice

My thought is not to trim the wires to short ( i assume your wanting the wiring to lay flat so ~ 3-4 cm sticking out of esc) as the heat when soldering the connector on may chase up the wire and into esc. Could cause a poor solder joint or have it come undone.

I haven't seen a jeti in person so i can't say from the pics if there openable (servicable).

I have several jive escs and there non serviceable.

Another though is to bend the motor leads up a cm or 2 from the motor then arc the whole works back to the esc. Bunlde it all up when rotation verifed. The 3 leads acting as one should minimize any movement
