For you guys who have upgrade to the new OW Main Gear Complete Upgrade.

Do you still have to the Mod or it is strong enough?

Using the Scorpion 4525-520

If you have the one with the 3 vertical pins on the sides of the internal sleeve there is no need to upgrade.

Its impossible to know from that picture. You need to open it and see if you have the 3 pins holding the sleeve:

I'm curious to see if you're new OWB has the update or not. Have you had a chance to check?

I checked it and it is not.

The crown gear hub is upgraded to the newer version while the main gear hub is not.

I am curious on how do you know what is the right length to drill to put the set screws on?

I have a dremmel and I can make the flat spots but when drilling holes to match it, its kinda hard.

Why do you want to drill holes? you should have 2 screws already and you need to make the flats aligned with them.

No screws. I have the crown gear upgraded not the main gear hub where you have to make the flat spots.

Im not sure i understand what you are talking about...
All upgraded sprung type have 2 small screws on the main gear hub "holding" the sprung sleeve

That is what I am telling you.

The crown gear hub which is the top part which holds the crown gear is upgraded, so I do not have to use the cir-clip.

And the main gear hub which holds the main gear and the OWB is not upgraded, so it is either I upgrade it or drill holes in it.

If the main gear part is not upgraded (not sprung type) drilling holes will not do it any good because there is no sleeve sleepage problem there.
Just lub it very well with gaui greese make sure it goes all around the needles.

But- im not really sure these parts are built to work together.. .

Got the 217170 one way upgrade today. Maybe it's a different version? Two flats on the hub sleeve. (Does it screw in?) No set screws. No circlip to hold it in but a collar instead.

Interesting. That looks a lot like my NX7, that appears to be threaded. Can you see threads in there?
