Just standing the 550 and 630 are pretty close to the same minus the extra length of tail on the 630.. the 5 is quite a bit smaller but still awesome all the same....

Yes, SAB has been in business for many years. Most people only know them now for the Goblin and the "Heli Division" They were making composites for RC for many years and then blades. There is supposed to be new models of the jet this year, but not sure if that is going to be something available through the worldwide distribution network they have now for the Helis. On the other hand. Mikado has announced that for their vbar and new vbar control radio, there will be firmware available this summer for use in fixed wing application. Kyle Dahl also happens to be a very good fixed wing pilot. So it may just be the players are all looking to increase market share a bit to be able to stay in business. I saw a post by Kyle Stacy yesterday on his facebook with him going out for a flight in a small jet (NOT SAB) using Pulse batteries. Nothing more than just some winter fun maybe, but at least SAB also has a pilot capable of flying a jet It doesn't interest me in the least, but I'm all for the companies doing whatever they think they need to do so they can stay in business and prosper. It helps us all. |

I'm all for cross pollination between formats. Not sure I'd have interest in a SAB fixed wing myself, but I'd sure love to see one rip around.
I do enjoy flying fixed wing on occasion, nice and relaxing... But not enough to justify putting significant money into at this point. I've always had a thing for jets though, I've considered picking up a Habu on several occasions. Who knows what this season will bring.
