Western Robotics Battery Buffer (Will it work?)
Helifreakers,
I just recieved my Logo XXtreme and I am in the process of thinking through the most optimal servo power arrangement. I have read the threads about the advantages of either a RX pack or an Western Robotics BEC. I purchased both and want to use both. I really dont like the idea of zero redundancy when it comes to powering by servos. I noticed on the Western Robotics website that they have released a battery buffer for 10V parallel bec + battery systems. The manual can be seen in the following link: http://www.western-robotics.com/pdf/WRL-BBFR.pdf I am a mechanical engineer and I sometimes get tripped up (confused) on electrical circuts. Do you guys think the buffer will work for the XXtreme? I was thinking about wiring the BEC off of the flight packs (the proper way) and feeding it to the buffer. I would also feed by 2s 2300 mah flight pack to the buffer. The output would go to a special cable I would make out of 2 Futaba servo extensions. Thoughts? Will this work? If so, how should it be wired? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tim |

I'm running a 2s2p 4000mah reciever lipo. Far more than needed so it has a huge safety margin.
I've done 2 sets of 4 flights on a charge. Upped timer to 4:30 and being aggressive with it. Still only managing to pull 200 mah per flight. So one needs to ask if you want to input electronics into the equation or just keep it simple. All electronics are subject to failure ( even great stuff like WR ) At the end of the day you need to decide what risk your willing to take. Much like taking off IMO. I do run a WR blinkIng lipo monitor for a visual confirmation Martin
