Default KDS 450QS Servo upgrade

Hi guys,

I'm new to RC heli's and haven't really had any experience with them.

I want to upgrade the servos on my 450qs to full metal ones because i crashed it once and have had to replace both servos (in the front?) and now have to replace another one, so i was thinking of just replacing them all with full metal KDS N290s. Is this a good idea?

I can see myself crashing it again so would rather have to replace rotor blades instead of having to replace servos as well.

Any help would be good! I'm waiting on my USB dongle to arrive so i don't have to crash it so much while learning...

I have not heard anything bad about them. I ended up replacing mine this last time with power HD metal gear and they seem to be decent.

Cool thanks, I'll keep that in mind for once i learn to fly it properly.

I have another problem now... the main rotor wont spin up and it ran rotate the main rotor in reverse freely. It seems like may a shear pin has gone, anyone know what it could be?

I haven't crashed it since last time and it was fine for about 5 mins then when i tried to take off the tail rotor goes and the main rotor just spins slowly.

Here's a video of my problem

I'm thinking that it is the Oneway bearing after looking at the manual.

Seems to be a broken link. I can not find the video. I would check both bolts. The one on the Head and the one holding the main gear. You may have also spun your pinion.

just a quick note (in case someone else is having the same problem)

turns out the one way bearing is fine but it was bolt in the main rotor housing which locks the housing to the main shaft which has snapped. This isn't documented in the KDS manual (not very well).

So after a lot of messing around I have discovered that I need a replacement M2x10 bolt and nut. so it's back to the hobby shop again to find this...

/thread.
