Default Canomod... Fits terrible on 700

I just received my Monster energy canopy from HD. Test fitting it for the first time indicated that the front lip that slips under the frame had to trimmed significantly so it would slide back far enough. Then I found that the mounting holes were about a 1/4 inch too high. If I screwed them down the back of the canopy wouldn't even go over the boom. Well after taking a Dremel to it and opening the holes up I have slotted it so much to get to fit that you can now see a gap between the mounting grommet and the mounting hole because it had to be enlarged so much. I'm not very happy for spending $110. I thought the quality would be much better. Anyone else with this issue?

Hey, you know what I did? Instead of modifying the canopy, I called HD and informed them if the issue. Something amazing happened, they sent me a new one.

It's super effective, more effective than bitching about it here.

I bought a Goblin 700 used and the Canomod canopy fit is tight. I think trimming some off the front will resolve the problem but I haven't done it yet.

I just got a new one also from them for my 770. It showed up filled with scratches and wet paint defects. Roughly sixty or more areas where something had touched it and blurred the paint, fish eyes, and surface defects. I called them and they required pics, no biggie. Once they saw these they sent me out a new one with return postage to send the old one back in the same box.

Legit members that like to help people? I am a "legit" member and I WAS helping you.

If you think cutting up a canopy that doesn't fit right because the factory did it wrong is a good idea, then go right ahead.

I don't ever tell someone to cut up a canopy so it will fit when it should fit without modification.

Sending it back to HD for a proper fitting canopy is common sense Chris. I did it as well as other "legit" members.

I saw this and assumed you bought it from Canomod (huge $$$ shipping) and then that's a tough situation.. but you bought it at HD? Return it. complain!
