Default throttle channel greyed out in Data Viewer Pro

Hi,

recently i got myself a Jeti DS-14 and a UniSens-E for my Goblin 380/720BE.
After finishing the setup (stick setup in TX and FBL, trottle endpoints, ...) I am having problems to get the sk governor (2650/2850/3050) working correctly.
When i spool up on the bench, switching rpm between idle 1,2 and 3 only works after hiting the autorotation switch.
Strange is that in the logfiles there is the trottle channel greyed out. so it is difficult to to understand what is going on.

Can someone tell me what could be the cause?

Yours,
Jo

Default throttle channel greyed out in Data Viewer Pro

It's a known bug when using UDI.

It's been like that since UDI support was implemented.

Just to be clear - It's the greyed out throttle in the data logger that's the bug.

Thanks Groucho,

yes itīs about the greyed out throttle in the data logger.
Does the 720be write no values/information to the data logger, or does the data logger just show no values/information, or said different is it a bug in the unit or the software?

Or is it a bug which comes from the Jeti side?

As i read your post to UDI settings https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=640641, changing to PPM is not really an option for me, as i use all nine channels for the GPS and bank switching.

I cannot say for certain.

However I'd venture to say that it's a bug in the software.

I say this because of a precedent set with other bugs - Over a PPM connection, prior to version 4, GPS altitude and GPS speed data were displayed incorrectly in the data viewer.

However, once the new data viewer became available with version 4, those old logs were able to be read correctly, and all previously incorrect GPS data, was displayed correctly as it should have.

The issue with GPS altitude and speed displaying incorrectly in the logs, is however sadly still present when using a UDI connection (maybe I should more accurately say a UDI connection with a Jeti RX, because that is what I've tested). You will not be able to make use of this data.

Hi Groucho,

thanks for your reply.

Yesterday I changed the RX firmware to the unofficial but still availible 3.24 D-Bus/S-Bus version. Now the throttle channel is visible again in the data viewer, also the flightmodes are working as they should. This was tested on the bench. Next chance to try it out on the field, will be next week.

Did you ever try this? Or anybody else? Has anyone experience with the D-Bus firmware version? Can it be dangerous?

I have not tested the Jeti S-Bus firmware with a skookum unit yet.

I have only done so with a fixed wing model gyro, and so far only on the bench, and very briefly.

You'll have to report back with your thoughts after your flight I suppose...

It has to be a glitch in the sk. I'm running x bus dmss and mine is greyed out as well.

So here with I can say, seems to work. everything went fine. But I forgot to switch form normal to idle1. So the fight was a little bit weird. Which cost me a landing gear.

The log looks good, not dropouts, stable sats with 5 lost package - but this should be acceptable I think.

Tue to the broken landing gear I was not able to do other flights. Maybe after new yearīs eve.
I will report.

Happy new year,

Johannes

Hi everyone,

as promised, here is the log of my flight from today.
Everything went fine, but as i am a lousy pilot, you will only seen some hovering around and some circles.

The Jeti R2sat via Dbus-firmeware looks fine to me. but I am not the expert

Please have a look at the rpm and the governor, i think it is ok like this.

Whatīs about the drops of the servo bus voltage down to zero Volts at 323sec.
This must be a bug, because i did not observe anything in flight. Zero Volt should have caused the FLB to reboot. The bird should have fallen from the sky.

The log is to big (3.5 meg) hope you can download it as this adress:

or try this

Greetings,
Johannes

=] Like you say, if those voltage drops were for real!! EeeeeeeK...

As it is the gov is working well, can you get it into idle2, ideally towards the start and end of the pack...

Hi Georgi,

thx for your reply.
Glad you see the the voltage drop as a bug in the software.
Do you think Art plans to fix this?
A year ago I was a little uncertain whether i should care about this , which led me to buy a powerbusmini and a buffer unit form r2prototyping. As the buffer unit did not make any changes, I removed it. Now itīs laying around in my heli box.

I will post logs of flights in idle 2 and 3 next weekend, hope the weather is sunny.
