LOL, I don't need another electric 700 to feed expensive batteries. I would want to see how my Mikado experience goes, as well as to also learn what will come of the new 700.

I am, however, becoming itchy to perhaps try the MVC radio.

logos are the best imo, but becoming excessively tied to one manufacturer only is a problem to me.

I got a 600 late in the season , it's a half sx.

Old 6003d with sx head and gears.

Originally setup as a retro heli ( bls servo's black vbar etc ) but I updated it with a rescue neo and hv servo set I had in shop.

I put 350 flights on my old one , Still a great heli.

I went with 623 mains on 12s 3700 (1100 grams).

I'm ok being tied to one manufacture , I'm in deep , all Mikado lineup with VBC. Hoping to build a 480xx stretch soon.

I tried all the goblins less 380 , all short lived (sub 40 flights) and now all sold off.

Martin

I hear ya bud I purchased mine used for what I think was a good deal. Futaba servo's, Xera motor, Kontronik esc, Vbar (now Neo) running 10s 4000's.

I can speak to that one...I had a G500 back when it was introduced. I loved it, but nearly totaled it. Next day, I had some 12S5300's go bad and didn't want to rebuild the 500 AND replace expensive packs. So, I parted it out.

Earlier this spring, I built a G570 Carbon Edition. Easily the coolest heli I've owned, but I never cared for how it flew. Nothing like the 500. I never felt connected with it. So, I sold it.

Overall, the Goblins are really nice, but, I think it's simply a matter of personal preference. I much prefer the traditional pod/boom, and a more moderate headspeed. I hated dealing with the canopy on those Goblins. And, in the end, too much paint to look out for. I can't stand to have paint chips and cracks.

I started off with a goblin 770 top shelf build.

Yellow/blue 770 , outrage / X8 tail , kosmic 160 , 14s 4400 65c , silverline vbar , scorpion 4530-450.

I liked the paint scheme and the visibility of the yellow tail boom. If you can't see this in the air , this heli thing might not be for you.

My 770 issues :

- paint fade (common) minor annoyance.
- tail authority.

I fly big air 3d and smack wanabee. I start out on a high speed pass 1/2 roll / 720 piro . On the way back (carrying speed) i'll throw the tail straight down and tic toc walk it past me. I put on 120mm rotortech tails, comp tail (+7.8mm to tail disk) , and a 25t tail pulley to bump the authority up a bit. The tail loads up and starts to howl then starts to chatter like it's going to blow out. In all fairness it didn't actually blow out but I'm certain it would have if pushed a bit more. I also purposely got the MKS X8 tail for it's higher torque output as I was advised the typical tail servo was on the low end end of the torque required range.

I wasn't fully aware of the " goblin growl " for the first 10-12 flights and spent countless hours trying to find out why it's so noisy. After 12 flights I gave up in frustration and decided 'just to fly it and see what happens' . Didn't blow up so that's good.

I got to thinking and tried an experiment. I did my best smack box flying I could pound as tight togeather in as small of a box I could. The tail was much better , I could hear it load and unload (poor cyclic) but I will say it didn't sound nearly as bad as in FFF.

I determined that the goblin is more of a taraq smack heli than a big air FFF 3d machine. The logo 700/800 on the other hand will load up into a loud hum , maybe a slight chatter if I'm on it to hard , but no where near what the goblin does in the same situation.

My flying style is more suited to the logo as I have much more big air 3d than box smack.

Goblin 700 , tail was a bit better but still not what the logo 7/800 can do.

Goblin 570 , I felt was a heavy disk load. I did a little auto , hit hold and it dropped.
After 3 flights on the 570 I determined it's not for me.

Hope this helps out some.

Martin

Default No love for the venerable 600?

Love mine. Love em so much I've got 3 of them now. lol. 4 if you count the airframe that's hanging without electronics in my basement. All are 6003d's with SX tail hubs, except one, which is a full SX that just needs a vbar.

Tried a goblin 500... It was super nice, but I prefer a light feeling heli, so the Logo 480 felt much more to my liking. Much better flight time too.
