I am using RJX head (bought from HK) along with Align DFC main shaft.

Tried on the K-Force esc (well basically the same but maybe my platinum has a problem) still same. Tried on a Turnigy Plush (oh well almost same as the hobbywing) still the same.

So does anyone using this motor which doesn't get hot? What esc and settings are you using? I'll try borrowing different esc from our group just to really know if I need to change the motor.

@Icc014, I see we have the same motor. How's the temp on your motor after a flight? What esc and setting do you use?

Regards,
Arey
Yeah that was a wonderfully smooth flight and good video too! Are you able to get a temperature reading from the motor? Some motors simply run hot (especially if ambient temperature is also high) but if within specified limits it's generally not a problem.

When I first read your post I assumed the heli you were running this motor on was a Trex 450 Pro. I understand the Gaui X3 is a little larger and heavier so I'm sure you're giving this motor a workout, especially if you're using 350 mm main blades.

Hi all,

I'm almost finished with my 6S setup. But i have a question. I have a Scorpion HKII-2221-2010kv motor + Castle EDGE 50 controller. I initially wanted to get TGY-306G-HV servos, but purchased the regular non high voltage TGY-306G servos. Will they work?

They'll work great, just make sure your BEC output is set to 6.0 V or less. That is configured in the Castle configuration software. The default setting will be safe (I think it's 5.5 V, if not 5.0 V).

Default Align 6S 1250 Lipo

Is anyone running the Align 6S 1250ma Lipo and if so, what do think about them?

Thanks for the update.

My Thor 6S 1350 mAh packs are my favorties so far (brick style). 1.5 yrs and 100 cycles each on the first two I bought and still going strong. Mostly run at governed 3000 rpm for 5 min, 20 sec flights of mild 3D. I picked up two more before Readyheli closed down. I'm wondering if there's another US vendor?

Back in January I got some Gens Ace 1200 packs. The packs are working well, but I would like to get some packs that have more runtime.
Trexwilly, are the Align 1250 packs still working good? I am considering the Align 1450 Lipos.

The 1450s I have for my 450L are working great! They are really made for the L though they fit good on the X3 too, they are a bit long for the 450Pro,,,

I just got Pulse 1350's for the stretched 450 pro. They fit under the canopy. Hope to fly this week.

Here is mine! I finally got it 100% changed over to a stretch with tail blades as well. I do have a issue with the tail. It's not a wag, but a twitch. It is not the gain because when I do a pitch pump the tail is solid.

I just upgraded my 450 pro dfc to 6S. That means I changed the motor, esc, & lipo. Just "maiden-flew" the bird to get a feel of the rpm vs throttle position. What I found to be interesting is that 3200 rpm is achieved with 52% throttle. I can only imagine the speed if I push to 100% throttle.

In my stock 3S configuration, I get to 3200 around 87% throttle.

My suspicion is with the new electronics & pinion I'm using. Here's my new setup:

Align 460MX, 1800KV
KOBY 40LV esc
1300 mAh 6S lipo
Stock 12T pinion

Anybody with any thoughts on the issue and what can be resolved?
