Yes just mod the kde, takes two minutes, so yes I suppose then have the newest frames. And no shadowing, its Futaba so there are no satts no.

BTW just weighed it @ 10.74 pounds with 4500mah (1400gram total) packs.

Other..Yes I have relocated the rx antenna, drilled a small hole in front of rx tray and that one now shoots straight out front, even though Jives casing is very well insulated better to be safe I agree. Now just gotta get some better straps for the battery to trays and some front back lock straps and I'll be good to go that and some warmer weather.

Anyone using the Puretech straps? I ask as would like to get a bunch of them and their sizing is very unclear as to the optimum straps needeed to replicate the Align ones length, stock ALign are 3/4 inch wide by 300mm long, but Puretechs sizes are all in core wrapping sizes kinda silly...
Shawn !

I use Align 600 Esp straps (3 align logo write) Only I cut the on the end. Or the mikado straps very good size.

Regards

Shawn,

Very impressive, Was wondering what you think of the Align carbon control rod on the tail. Mine seems a little stiff, and going to try to loosen the guides or run just one. The ball links took some resizing to smooth them out for me, but the lengths were spot on out of the box, when I installed mine. I love the KDE rotor head housing, no worries about proper alignment, just bolt it up and go.

Love the black dye on the gears, looks like you've put some time into your build.

I did not resize a single link under advisement. Apparently these links wear in very fast I'm told so I left it be. Tr control rod yes their guides could have been a few mm lower that is tug or resistance you feel there is no avoiding it but it shouldn't create issue to be truthfull although it's not optimum really as it pulls the rod up abit at each point. For alignment flex purposes it's better to run two I think.

The fbl E is shorter than the fb nitro. And the canopy is thinner on the E.

That's a good looking fleet you have there! I've considered a 550e but I thought it would seem small and weak after flying the 90 version. I miss my 700E...

Thanks, I think I'm done (Maybe a Nitro next Christmas )

The 550 is awsome, Close to the size of a 600 with the agility of a 450...and very fast

+1 nice fleet mate!
I have the 550E with the 550mm blades, it's sweet!
Was looking at the F3C as my next chopper, can you use the 6S out of the 550E or do you have to wire the 2 6S lipos together?
Cheers
Justin

I will be running two 6S in series. The 550 and 700 will share batteries
