Awesome job!
Looks like it was just assembled straight from the box.
Cockpit is a little barren, need the orange jumpsuited pilot.

I wanted to put him in there but I don't have the seat screwed to the wood or a seat belt for him. Still looking for options for a seat belt. Any idea's? I was also thinking of using some of that thick pink foam for a backer for gluing the canopy together. That way I could use some pressure to keep the two halves of the canopy together while the glue sets. After posting my latest pics I looked back at what I started with...what a transformation.

A Velcro LiPo battery strap could be fabricated into a convincing seatbelt.
WalMart or any fabric store has hook and loop material in different widths and in the aisles with buttons and such small buckles can be had.
( Yes I do go to Joann Fabrics and Michaels )

I go to Joannes all the time with my wife ; they actually have some pretty cool stuff in there and my wife gets her teachers discount...

Check out the ribbon section... I am thinking some 1/4" or maybe 5/16 black satin ribbon would make a good seatbelt...

I just finished reading this thread, now I'm hooked. Lot of work and craftmanship went into cleaning up and/or polishing. Can't wait to see finished pics and hopefully a video of Joe flying it.

I have just had no time to continue the restoration. I'm not listing anyplace but would sell it. Maybe once winter hits I'll have some time for it......who knows.

I know how you feel, just don't let it sit for 30 years or so like I have mine, sir.

I go to Tacoma Screw for all of my Tap and Die needs. They have Taps and dies down to 3MM.
I also buy my hex head drivers from them. They are a T Handle, have long shafts and go from 2.5MM up, and they can get you just about anything you need.
