Andy Rummers heli, the guts....?
Well I know he has a Hacker, I am perhaps assuming a CC esc. Anyone know any particulars? The Hacker motor which model, pinion and esc? Just curious if anyone that went to IRCHA may have looked into this?
Mikado needs to make a site for their sponsored pilots imho. Giving a breakdown of their pilots and their gear. Hint,,hint,,Ralph

There you go Andy is using S9650, Jazz 55-10-32 (at least he was using one at 3DM), Hacker prototype motor, Vbar w/ gyro, maniac 603mm blades (made by bbt) and 95mm tails (bbt) battery is a 10s 3700 FP NF

Hmm all it says it is a Hacker A50 series, 16 turn, 10 pole, I am going to guess it is just the A50-10S, and maybe he is running a higher pinion than 14t which is the recommend of that motor. Several vendors mention that these will not work with Jazz controllers due to pole count, sounds kind of like a lie if Andy is using a Jazz....interesting. Wish the site had some more specifics. Oh well, thanks Dani. Let us know where you can get those cool Maniac blades when they come out!

Andy was using the Jazz quite a time before Ircha and I witnessed his flights and it "seemed" to work

OICU812,
Its a new prototype A50-12S thats made for the E-620 i think, it WILL work with Jazz and other ESC's. Gary spoke of it in the E-620 thread on rcgroups. |

Hi,
One of the pilots on that site, Andreas Stolzenburg, is running SAB 515 main blades on his L10. Does anyone know if these can be used on the standard L10 boom and where I can get a set of these? I wonder if 15mm over the standard 500mm blade is enough to reach the stock tail rotor disc. Thanks! - Jon |

515 is not an issue on the standard boom of the L10

i believe it is the 10pole version of the hacker. (due to switching rate limitation of jazz esc, he cannot use higher pole count and get the rpm he needs)

Does anyone know where I can get the 515 SAB's? I've been looking everywhere and no one carries them that I can find.
Second question : I aquired a motor in a trade that looks to be a Hacker 36mm inrunner. The sticker was scraped off and the sell has no idea what motor it is. Does anyone know of a way to interogate the motor to determine it's Kv rating? Is there any info inside or can I send it to the manufacturer for this? This is a total shot in the dark but I thought it was worth a try. Thanks! - Jon |

Hello everyone,
just for those who want to know, Andy's motor set-up is the following: Hacker A50-16S with a 17 teeth pinion. The controller is a Jazz 55-10-32. Flightpower 3700 10S packs. I am attaching a data-log from one of Andy's recent flights. Greetings Ralf Buxnowitz |

Cool thanks Ralph! So this for sure is a A50-16S on his heli? That motor is commonly used for photography rigs,,, And I am assuming then this is a 6mm shaft motor so drill out the pinion or is Mikado offering up some different available pinions?
105 amps and just under 4000 watts, holy camoly freaking wowies!!! Big power but I wonder how many cycles a person can safely get out of a lipo with that setup? Those are the highest numbers I have ever seen on any L14 ever!

Thanks Ralf, those numbers are impressive.
Is it in fact a stock a50-16s 14 pole or one that is a prototype 10 pole? |

The team Mikado site says 16 turn 10 pole, which is not available for us civilians out there, lol. Now that sucks,

The 10-pole 16S has roughly the same kV as the 14-pole A50-12S, around 490. There is a higher kV 10-pole variant they've been testing as well. They had some of these at IRCHA, I think. I don't remember how many winds, though.
I think the 10-pole versions are in production, but I'm not sure when they will be available. Soon, I would think. I'm not sure how they will differentiate the 10-pole 16S from the 14-pole 16S that we've been using for the AP stuff, but I'm assuming there will be some distinction. -- Gary |

Gary, Andy Rummer was using a Jazz 55-10-32 with this A50-16S 10 pole version, would a person be able to use the 55 with the one you mention the 14 pole A50-12S??? Glad you joined in we need someone with alot of motor knowledge! :glasses:
