After your BW stratus build thread I bought a.... BW Stratus.

Now I've seen all Furion vids. Now where did I leave my credit card?

Saw one of these at my indoor club yesterday. The whole thing just oozes quality. It's definitely on my 'want list' now.

Unhappy

Started my build as soon as I could after the pressie ceromony yesterday afternoon and by midday today was on the head build. That's when it all came to a grinding halt. One of the blade grip hubs hasn't been threaded in the four holes and I'm stuck.
Now I've got to wait until Fast Lad Performance open again next Monday to see what can be done about it.
Talk about being pee'd off.
Anyway, apart from that the build has gone well and the quality appears great.
One question though. I have two spacers/washers in the box of bits left to fit but I can't find where the hell they go. They are 0.25 x 6 x 8.5mm. I'm pretty sure I haven't missed anything, but!!
Rgds
John.

What would be a good motor choice if I want to use both woodies and carbons?

It depends how much performance you want when you use your carbon blades. If you want the maximum power possible then I would get a Scorpion 2221-6 and run a lower throttle curve with the woodies, but you'll need a decent ESC that can cope with full load at partial throttle, e.g. a Jazz 40-6-18 or a 55-6-18. If a Jazz ESC is beyond your budget then you could get a Scorpion 2221-8 motor instead but you won't have the same performance as the 2221-6. Then again you might not actually need an expensive ESC. See what pinions are available and do some calculations on what your headspeed is going to be.

use your current motor and just lower the pinion(1 or 2 teeth) when you are using woodies....

Really? Both you and Laurens are not a fan of the 500. Curious as to why?

Its a good flying heli, but I keep upgrading it because there's stuff I don't like about it mechanically. This adds up quickly. I just want something that doesn't need upgrades and doesn't get sloppy.

I have to say since you brought this up...... Nothing against the Furion or 450 helis as I love them BUT..... 500's right now are my best flying electrics!
I gotta say guys... 500 sized is turning out to be my favorite sized electric! It flies closer to a 50 sized than it does a 450 and power to weight ratio is right on kick arse! Price of flying per battery cost also in relation to 600 or 450 has to be better... I have not done the clacs myself but a 500 for me ROCKS.

Sorry to go off subject here but if you haven't flown one of the many 500's out there then your missing a great electric heli!

Needless to say I gotta get this Furion myself!
