Default Are EVO 2170`s ok?

Will 2170`s be ok to use in a stock 550 with Z20 980KV.
Only gentle flight and hover, still novice.
These are from a trex450se which is a handfull so i would hate to ruin them.
I realise i have get the throt/pitch curves correct and not over discharge.

make sure you dont draw more than 1700 (80%) out of the packs. It does depend on how you fly. They should be fine. What I did was fly for 4 min, and then charged, checked how much I put back, then fly for 5 and check etc. If you have a data logger then it is a bonus. The Z20 is the best bet, but run the 14T pinion. If you are just hovering around, you could try the 13T, but I am not sure how that one works, I know Cralis tried it, perhaps he could chime in? I could fly for 6 min with my 2200 mah kong powers, and five if I did "harder" sport flying. I have the Z20 with a 14T pinion.

What is the "C" rating ? - they should be OK so long as they are 20C or above

OOps and what Mike said, I take for granted they are all above 20C!

Keep you flight times four minutes or less if you are doing more than hovering. I'm slowly but surely killing my older flight power 2170 EVO 25's. Just puffed another one this morning in a four and 1/2 minute flight. I want to get some Kong Power 3200's but I don't have the $$ right now.

Bugdozer, what power system are you running. My KPs are doing fine for now? (2200 mah), but I have the z20 motor, I basically hovered twice with the Gaui 1100kv and realised it would be cheaper to buy a different motor.

I'm running the Z20-980. KP's doing good so far as long as I keep my flight times to 4:30. If I go five minutes, the cell voltage drops down to 3.1 to 3.2 volts. I have two new FlightPower that seem to be holding up but I have puffed three of my older ones. Those are dedicated to my T-Rex only now.

14T pinion bugdozer? Mine seem to be holding up a little better - they are pretty new though.

Yup, 14T. Just got back from flying this morning. Newer FlightPowers and my KongPower hold up fine at 4 1/2 minutes. Fast forward and lots of fast, tight turns. My two older FP's that I puffed a while back are toast and don't even hold their voltage on my T-Rex. Don't know if I'll pick up two more KP 2200 or maybe two 3200. Depends on $$.

Interesting, I will pay closer attention to mine next time, are you using a logger, because otherwise they will be going lower than that in hard turns, climbouts etc.

No logger yet but I putting about 1650 to 1700 back into the batts. I have a logger on my T-Rex but have to wait for my b-day in April for a logger for my Huri.
