Ill assemble mine in a day or 2.
I think you can adjust the angle of the arm since its fixed by screws.
Let me see if I can avoid slider binding.

I dont think so. The area where the "mount" for the arm is recessed in the tail box. It has only one position.

I forgot I also had to shorten the center sleeve for the arm bearings also. It was a tad too long.

I did purchase a spare set of C/F tail box parts. Might try them to see if they help correct the issue.

Mine has the same play. I tried putting in some leftover washers but I gave up after 5 mins.
Would be nice if they made stepped washers like that new boom clamp has now.

Mine doesnt contact the slider, there is a hairline gap at the bottom and a tad bigger one at the top.
Can you reverse the carbon sides to elevate the shaft a bit?

I guess my pitch slider 90° was closer to 90° than yours
Its not perfect, my lever bolts touch the sides of the pitch slider so I had to unscrew top one for half a turn. Its as silk now.
I guess Ill have to buy the preassembled one too

Mine was a bit longer too, but I remember it bites in the plastic box, prob to make it more secure.
I sanded it a bit and it went in.

I had some trouble mounting the tail box to the boom. I used a hex driver to open it up a bit. It went easier after that.
I tapped it in, couldnt make it by hand.
There is no centering guide, like in plastic box, since CNC is made from one part so I eyeballed it with vert. fin on.
Its a really tight fit, even without tightening the clamp, so I dont think it would slide to the side like on Trexes.

There is zero side to side play in my lever.

Played a little more tonight trying different sliders and arms. The best is still the stock (plastic) arm on the setup. The CNC arm doesnt touch, but still has a little binding in the travel. When I loosened up the arm mounting screw so it had a tad of play, it worked ok with a well worn slider.

I just decided to stick with the plastic one. Works great and I have a few spares.

Any flight reports with the Infinity CNC tailbox installed?

Got a couple of flights on mine.
I never had any static issues and that didnt change with CNC box. I just silicone the belt now and then.

As Ecaf reported I also had a little binding when first assembled.
I unscrewed lever arm lover bolt and did a few full side to side travels with pitch boss screws all the way in.
That seated the whole assembly better. Re-tighten everything with boss at right extreme.
I had to unscrew top pitch boss screw for half a turn (and locktite it) to make it silky smooth.

New tail box performs well.
I had major violent wag on my V-Bared Protos for a couple of flights now and tail box is still in one piece and in same spot so I guess there is no need for centering bolt, it holds really tight.
Carbon part is a nice touch and bearings are up to the task.
Pulley has a little play but it doesnt effect flying at all, it doesnt move that much with belt under it.

Didnt want to crash it on purpose to see how CNC box copes

Ant there is a bling factor, makes my Protos buddys jealous

A small washer may do the same and allow you to tighten it down.

Wespen, can you take a picture of your tail looking down the tail shaft with the hub removed? Id like to see how centered yours looks.

Here are some pics of mine. As you can see, the bottom of the C on the pitch arm is closer to the pitch slider than the top. This is where it binds with the CNC arm.





Couple of ways I was thinking of modifying it to get better tolerances:

1 - Modify the arm mount by taking some material off the bottom bracket. This would allow me to put in a washer between the top bracket and the arm pivot point thereby moving it down.

2 - Create some new C/F brackets for the tail shaft , moving the tail shaft holes up a few mm.

Very nice Ecaf! The CF tailfin blends nice with those CNC tail components. Imagine a metallic paint scheme on the canopy to match the color of the tailcase .... one expensive looking chopper. The appearance of the finish in the photos reminds me of alloy components on a highend Infinity or BMW. Just dreaming here!

Is the binding tolerable in the center portion but only a real issue at the extreme limits of travel?

Ok, here are some closeups.
you are right, would be better if mounting block position is a tad lower.
I think its less than a mm.

Mine is not as bad as yours, file it a bit and use a shim on top. Should work.
Try to flip the carbon ends first, Im not sure they are symmetrical so shaft can end up lower.
