They haven't updated their pages for a while now. You can also see the 6,5 (910KV) is not suited for 6S LiPo's which is not true either
Yes they are producing 8 (950KV) as well but you can't find it there. Sorry about that but I told them many times to update their pages... Another thing is that they are providing Proto's motor mount for 6,5 and 8 motors and you can't find it on pages as well. such a good motors they have but you can't find it anywhere... You just have ask them directly and then you'll get anything you want |

As one who ordered the 6,5 motor from the U.S., I specified that I wanted the 6,5 and it was for the Protos. It included the motor mount plate. Everything fits perfect. But you will need to cut the shaft a little if you use the pinion adapter for the 13T or 14T.
I ordered through email. I told them what I wanted. They sent a Bill of Lading with wire transfer info in the amount of 99 euros. I wired the (then) $140 to their international commerce company they deal with D.A.T. spol. s.r.o.. The motor came like 3 weeks later (or something like that). At the current exchange rate, it would be about $124.

Ok, now I'm excited. What time frame (roughly) before the stretch kit would be available?? I'm thinking of going a second protos, a stretched one would be great.

Corrado,
Will the conversion kit come with the 470mm blades, or be sold separately? I'm not finding any sources for the 470mm blades here in the US. Maybe someone can point me to where to buy the SAB's. I just picked up some 3600mah 30C batteries for the Logo 600. I'll see if I can find a way to make them fit and balance with the stretch conversion. If so, I'll be in battery sharing nirvana. |

We will release stretch kits with blades, Sabs will be available once our stretch will be out. We will sell blades separately too so you'll be able to find them at usual dealers. I guess other blades manufacturers will follow since Protos comunity is hard to ignore now ..................we are to many

Am I suffering from Protos fever??
Or are there others out there who are dreaming of a stretched Protos, with Scorpion 440kv on 12s 1300mah Scorpion do custom wound motors, and I have checked with our Aussie distributor.....it can be done. I have a CC HV45 esc here as well, which is part of the reason.

12s is interesting, but your capacity target is too low for a 470mm heli. I think 1800 would be much better. But then it would be too heavy to share with a 350mm 6s machine.

Ideally I would like 12s 1500.
Double voltage, half capacity of 6s 3000. However, no'one makes 6s 1500 or 1800 packs. But there are a few brands that make 6s 1300 packs. Bear in mind, mine is flybarless, so a bit more efficient. Its a shame Im terrified of soldering lipo cells together, as I would make up my own packs

When spinning 470mm blades @ 2800rpm I fly for 5 mins with my Hyperion G3 35C 6s 3300mAh packs. I usually put back about 2600mAh when I recharge them. I would guess that for a 12s setup you would need 1600-1800mAh packs.
The disadvantage with 12s is you can charge only one 12s (2 x 6s) pack at a time. With my Hyperion 615i Duo3 charger I can charge two 6s 3300mAh packs at a time, so I spend less time charging and more time flying.

Huh? I parallel charge 4 6s 4000mah packs for the Logo on a single 6s charger at 15A. It's no problem at all.

Look at the RcGroups Protos thread.
Corrado and Luigi reached 2500W and 115A peak with the stretch kit and the Scorpion motor, 2700rpm...

Im not doubting the power of 6s, I already know its very good.
Its efficiency and light weight I want. A Turnigy 6s 2650 is already a fat piggy, without putting a 3000+ on there. Might have to look at some Hyperion 6s 3000 or Outrage NRG. As for charging, Hobbycity has anew digital charger that does 4x 6s packs at once, whilst balancing.

Yes.
And with the YGE 60A esc... As corrado says, the motor efficiency should be around 70% at that currrent, so 1500 goes into the shaft. Even so, that's roughly 2HP on a 1600-1700g heli...

I have peaks around 1500W on my ordinary Protos and I thought it's a rocket...
