However if you're talking about optimizing geometry, I believe this could be improved. And frankly, I don't give a damn who agrees with me. I'm funny that way.
Well I kind of agree that the balls being on the inside of the servo wheels is a bit goofy - if you want to reduce your radii, the balls can hit the servo at rotation extremes past a certain point. So if it were me, I'd change it up to where the balls are on the other side of the horns.

And on the nitro they really need to go to the adjustable bellcranks and elevator arm - as-is, there's just way too damn much throw for FBL even with the balls as far in as you can get them.

Or, just go direct-to-swash and live with those limitations (wider profile, a lot less strength). I'm not totally in love with direct-to-swash, but the simplicity and adjustability would probably be worth it...

This is really all I was getting at. I don't get the fanboy denial. There is just no justification for it. Without some degree of objective criticism progress becomes difficult or impossible. Christ, I've owned a dozen Align ships. I thoroughly respect the fact that Align has been increasingly more responsive to user feedback. This tells me they are flexible and creative and that they will not be left in the dust of a changing industry that thrives on tech innovation. Can I get a +1000 on that? Never mind, that kind of duchebaggery is completely unnecessary. An articulate response, even a bad one, is much more valuable. All of this is, of course, just my opinion.

Well again, the electric doesn't have a wholesale geometry problem with FBL - that's not a "fanboy denial", that's just a fact. Apart from the minor binding issue which I -ish agree is a problem, it's really pretty close for any FBL unit you want to put on it with all the balls on the inner holes.

The nitro, OTOH, is hopeless with the stock bellcranks . Way too much throw and it really can't be fixed without replacing those bellcranks with the electric versions. But the nitro is basically a flybar machine and its geometry is perfect for that.

But I don't think Align cares too much about their nitro lines anymore unfortunately, given the rate at which they're updating it.

So we'll see how they respond to the competition on things like this. They've already got a new head (the DFC head) and it looks like there's more demand for direct-to-swash. DTS would probably help make the geometry more adjustable...

Geez. My 700E is my best bird. I stopped counting flights past 500. Updates have been regular, it's flawless now. I think align has hit it out of the park with the 700N and 700E.

oh cool, even hiding the dfc swash ball from the air flow by turning it sideways. but looks like its a one peice grip/grip arm so no way to change the resolution if it's not vbar friendly and has a a/r bracket so looks direct linkage too.

Nice! I just hope the FBL geometry is good with V-Bar and that the servo arms don't hit anything(my 500EFL and 550E both have Elevator arms that hit both the top of the tt case and the bottom of the antirotation bracket at full throws). I won't be getting one until August so hopefully any bugs on the initial release will be worked out by then and I can go to immediately beating it up.

I wonder what's needed to upgrade a v2 to a 700e DFC? Looks like a good upgrade with perhaps some weight savings.

I wanna see it without the canopy. Looks like the batteries are still under the bottom. Dont think it will take much to convert the v2 to the dfc.

the v2 already has the dfc kit as an add on but i'm more curious to see if they've done away with the push pull set up. i'm sure they have since i doubt they would put a direct linkage in the ele servo while leaving the push/pull on the front. shouldn't be long now if they're starting to leak photos. i'm sure they would like to beat mikado to the stores with a new 700 which is what? june/july?
