Question for the Triabolo 800 guys
So what FBL controller are you using? Are you happy with it? Ease of setup?

I am using the Spirit FBL. I am very happy with it. In my experience its much easier to get dialed in then other FBL units I have used. I initially had a vBar Mini on it that but I did not like the feel of it. I probably could have tuned it in but did not feel like going though the learning curve.

I have the Triabolo 700 and I'm using a Spartan Vortex VX1N. It works extremely well with just the factory '3D' preset and it has a setting for rigid heads (not sure how much difference the rigid setting makes but I went ahead and used it).
The cyclics are very responsive and it's extremely stable and locked-in feeling. I find the setup very easy once you get used to it and get the TX endpoints and server directions set.

Sorry to hear about your crash. I had the same damage twice in a row a few weeks ago. I can now rebuild the head in my sleep. You might want to check your swash. One of the servo mounting points had bent slightly and swash ball joint screws would not clear it propery when I rotated the head.
There was nothing special needed for the Triabolo with spirit (or any other FBL) as far as I know. |

Damn, that's really a shame. I don't know what would cause that kind of wobble.
Regarding the flight modes, I'm using a Spektrum DX7 and DX7s and the VX1 automatically recognises the different FM switch positions. So it's then just a matter of setting whatever values you want for the things that are flight-mode-specific in the Datapod for each flight mode. Some things are global and some can be customised for each flight mode. I usually pretty much keep the settings the same.

Glad to here that. I actually put my Triabolo back in the air last weekend. It was cold and windy and my confidence level is pretty low so I simply flew some circuits until I had taken the batteries down to storage level. At least it was a flight that did not end with a trip to the bank :-)

That should get everything lined up nicely again. Mine had some weird noises from the gears that went away once I did this. -Matt |
