Hey guys, just been catching up on a few thread's...just fed baby so I'm typing very softly SSSHHHHH

My mum and dad just replaced their campervan with a newer one so I will be able to drive down in that. I'd like to find a nearby camping site with electric hookups....to make sure I can charge my li-po's if it's an overnight saturday/sunday affair hope I don't crash both heli's on day one, and have to go home crying

If I'm away for the night I'm certain my girlfriend will ask to come and bring the family along for the ride (she say's the heli's bore her so I'll just have to wait and see if can talk her out of it ).

Grant - hope you had a good snowboarding holiday BTW. I'm still jealous Hope you can let us know soon so we can arrange a date. Really looking forward to it already...especially seeing some flying that is far superior to my own.

Jonny - really hope you make it. It would be a shame for a regular contributor, such as yourself, to miss out on such a prestigeous event. Although how would you get your parents permission to cart a grands worth of RC equipment halfway across the country to meet a bunch of freaks you met on t'internet??

I've got a little bit further on my research so i may aswell share it with you guys.
Im looking into two possible things.
Firstly, my grandparents own a farm in Aldridge with plenty of land to fly on, I'm trying to find out from the council about the noise etc as there are houses close by, and also if there is likely to be some free feilds around june/july time, and room for camping.

Secondly, which is looking much more promising is to have it at our flying field in Harlington, west london. I was speaking with some of the guys there who also want a funfly soon and found out that the old flying club that now doesnt exist there still has some money in their pot. This might be usefull to booking the field for the weekend, which would allow camping etc then.

Will find out abit more soon.

Hey guys,
Just a couple of possibilities to throw out to people.....

I have spoken to a few of the guys in HHF (our legendary club lol) and it looks like we are up for organising a fun-fly at our field. http://www.westlondonmodels.com/contact_us/
So far we are passing the first weekend of july around to see what people think, and then pass that by the council to book the field.
I looks like we want to hold it over the full weekend, most likely £5 entry to help pay for the rent of the field and if enough people go towards some prizes for some fun contests over the weekend (such as possibilities like the timed hover, heli drag racing, auto spot landings).

We hope the standard to range from beginners to Pro's, so everyone can have fun! It also looks like there may be room for camping on site too.

Gerd can give his verdict on what he thinks of the possible venue this weekend

So far this is the plan and in the ideas stage at the moment. Dates need to be passed around first, then confirmed the field can be booked those dates, and confirm prices of the field and exactly what will happen etc but i'll keep you guys updated if your interested in all attending this as our Freaks funfly?
