Mine came at the 5v setting and when I moved it to 6v's the tail servo would glitch and click back and forth really bad. I went through the ar7200bx setup and it still did it. I went back to 5v's and the issues went away completely. No tail kicks in flight at 5v. I figure I'll just fly it as is. I have 62 flights on my v2 450x and it's been flawless other then the tail servo issue when I had it set for 6v. I just pre ordered a goblin 380 so hopefully that is done and ready to fly before I have any issues with my 450x.. Which I really enjoy flying. But whenever I have an issue I'll fix what breaks and put it back together with mks servo's. But for now let's see how long she goes

Default Verdict on H3050 Servos

Hey guys, I need to replace the stock ds76 servos on my 4503d that I converted to FBL. I've read all of the posts on this thread and it seems like they will be fine for my application and flying skill level. I'm about to pull the trigger on ordering (3) of these servos and just wanted some final thoughts from you guys that are using them already.

Thanks,
WHH

I just stuck my first set in a 450x airframe that I got the other day on the for sale board. The stockers were a little crunchy, so I pulled them. So far they're so good. I used the same servo arms that were on the original ds76 servos as my goofy self misplaced them. This tells me that 300x arms would work fine too.

I've got a couple of flights in and they feel fine, more than responsive for my skill level. I can't say much for fitment though as the airframe I bought has an aftermarket (microheli) airframe as opposed to the stock one.

I have a V1 450x and had 2 servo fails of the old eflite servos. I got all 3 3050s and the 3060 new on eBay for around sixty bucks. I have been using them for months with no troubles. Yes they fit the frame. You just have to do the whole BeastX setup again. Well worth the upgrade.

Cool deal thanks for the confirmation sir, it's actually a 4503d converted to FBL using a Robird G31 but yes will have reset up the fbl unit....

Also, does anyone know if you can get breakaway horns for this servo?

I have been reading in several threads about good KST DS215MG or TGY306G servos.

It is being said that the plastic case of H3050 is not that good and you can easily overtighten it??

I also monitored threads about crashes and corrupt H3050 gears.
Other say they withstand crashes...weird.
What gear can get corrupt on H3050?

There are also KDS N300 servos for cyclic.

Not sure which one of the 4 servos (H3050 vs DS215MG vs TGY306G vs N300) is the best crash proof and what type of gears you get or if there might be ONE weeker gear?

For the moment I am always changing DS76 cyclic plastic gears :-)
DS76T already died on first crash (poti/motor twitchy, over-steering).

I have upgraded tail on my 4503D to H3060.
Works fine.
Seems it overlived two more crashes :-)
Slightly LESS range to tail endpoints as DS76T with Eflite G210 gyro (compatibility??).
Works nevertheless pretty good. I am satisfied with it.

Now i need to find a good / cheap MG tail servo not that heavy has H3060 for my V120d02s :-)
Maybe BlueArrow...
Surely not DS76T once more (so which worked good In flight for a nice tail hold on 4503D).

I have had the kst 215 and the spektrum h3050 and 3060 tge spektrum are good for what they are. They are lightweight and pretty quick torque is so so....yes the plastic case sucks the problem is u have to be careful with the loctite. U should wick it in servo mount screw hole with a tooth pick trying not to get any on case tabs. And dont over tighten. Now the kst are a little heavier but pretty much bullet proof. Awesome centering, fast and precise. I would say get those i love mine. People even use them as tail servo's!... The turnigys are pretty much the same as kst same gear sets etc i think just cheaper so if u wanted to save a little money u could.

Using Loctite to mount servos on the 450X plastic frame?

Ah, ok.

Then maybe the plastic casing will not be a deciding factor against those servos for the OP

The H3060 plastic bottom chassis breaks easily on the 4 screw holders.
Had it opened / tightened maybe 2-3 times.
The complete chassis replacement set (plastic cases bottom+top) costs 7EUR.

IMHO you really should look for alternative servos with aluminium bottom case like KST DS215MG which also support 333Hz instead of only 270Hz.

My H3060 did neither withstand a crash that well for me (no jittering).

But now the motor keeps overrunning at some positions when the servo arm is near middle position (in heading hold gyro mode).
Moving the arm until both end positions looks just fine.
Also I can use the rudder stick and move servo arm until end positions when gyro/servo is on with no blocking at all.
Maybe it's just MG servo gears or maybe its even electronic/the complete servo. Who knows...
Happend once for me for a DS76T where after replacing gears the servo was a fail at 4,8V (sudden jittering) and this servo only worked fine with tests on 4,2V on V120D02s with step-down diode anymore (no jittering).

For starting ~20EUR to 27EUR I could get a complete new H3060 servo and HH has 10-13EUR prices for a gear replacement set.

I have been stumbling multiple times over the tail midi servos:
- KST DS565X (coreless)
- TGY-505HV = KST BLS505x
