I believe that Thunder Tiger is coming out with a new version of the Raptor. Not sure how many of the parts will interchange.

And yet the Raptor 30 and Raptor 50 are still being made. Really all TT needs to do to keep them current is release a factory CCPM conversion though. Nothing wrong with them. Put out a Raptor 30/50 V3 update and it'll be good for another 15 years.

I know the new e820 is set to be released in June but its an electric update. Doesn't explain the discontinuing of the nitro version.

My next purchase was going to be a g4 nitro (just because I am familiar with thunder tiger) but now I am actually kind of excited to buy a whiplash..I actually wanted one anyway but apparently I am a creature of habit. Think I'll go for the gasser! What a rebel ...

I built my FBL G4 about 4 months ago. Have burned 14 gallons of fuel on it so far. Loving it a whole lot. In fact I loved the build and how it flew I decided to try a FBL X50. It is as good as the G4. But then again there's something to be said about the larger helis.

I hope they don't drop the 700 nitro line.

I've only got about 6 gallons thru my G4 nitro. I absolutely love this heli but...If Thunder Tiger discontinues it then I'll move on to a Whiplash and never look back. I will place them in the same category as Outrage and never buy again. Companies that discontinue models so soon after their introduction don't deserve loyalty.

I love the Raptor line and have for years but this will conclude my loyalty to Thunder Tiger. If parts become unobtainable for the G4 I am with you. Never looking back. SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND. WHIPLASH!!!!!!! Ehhhh ordering one anyway. Make it a gasser please. Huh.

TT will not discontinue the G4 nitro. Tower hobbies may not be stocking them due to demand but TT have no plans to stop production. As a result if low demand for nitro heli's these days they may not produce as many but kits and parts will still be produced. The good thing is it shares the most of the same parts as the E720 and E820. So for the sake of a few unique nitro parts, it wouldn't make sense to discontinue them.

Since they are the distributor for the US if they discontinue it then it may as well be gone from TT

If the demand in the US is low enough for Tower to not bring them in, then not much anyone can do about it. However if there is still a big enough market outside of the US, then that would be reason enough to keep them coming off the production line.

SUB HAS FLYBAR, HAS SLIGHTLY SLOWER RESPONSE TIME"

I noticed that the G4 FB description mentioned FB and FBL characteristics.

Here is the email exchange that I had with tower...

Donald,

Thanks for contacting Air Support. The description does sound confusing, but this is the flybarless nitro kit. It does give the option to build it flybarred with the included parts.

Best regards,

>>> Donald Sutton <out04@yahoo.com> 5/27/2013 3:51 PM >>>

Is this flybarred or flybarless? I know there used to be one of each, and the picture is flybarred, but the description mentions a flybarless head also. Do they include parts for either configuration in the kit?

Thanks,

D. Sutton

Was I misled?

Below is the response I received from Tower Hobbies support.

Thank you for your recent email,*This helicopter was actually discontinued by Thunder Tiger. We will continue to carry parts for the G4-nitro for as long as Thunder Tiger continues to produce them.*Thank you for your concern,**Sincerely,*Josh S.*Air Support*HS8081****
