Dan, a couple of years ago (in Christchurch, as a matter of fact ) I did similar tests using Sony Bloggie strapped to a Blade 400, with identical results. A 450 heli doesn't have lifting power to carry a stabilized gimbal, so you'd need to have zero vibrations, a virtual impossibility on a plastic-frame 450.
I have abandoned the project at the time and I'm having another go at it right now, but I changed the platform to a 450-sized quad, and the initial results are much more promising. I'm afraid a 450-heli based APV platform is a dead end

Try to use a lot of dampener between the heli and the platform. You can try PU gel.
It also possible that the white plate vibrate, causing the camera to shake. I have seen this problem before, but can not recall where did I read it. |

Thanks guys, I'll try to sling the GoPro under the Heli, CG anyway. That way I can use more dampening. Just have to make extra skids. Pretty keen to make it work have seen some footage that looks good from other 450size Heli. But a quad would be better.
