I love watching heli abuse like that. Two minute flights are great for YouTube, but I just don't have that much fun with them myself.

I'm thinking maybe I should re evaluate after watching this one!

Testing out my home-made cap-mount for my cellphone (Samsung S4) which takes pretty good 1080p video even at up to 2.0X zoom.

With my steel pinion and double-idler mods, I can run my belt on the loose side with no fear of belt slipping. This results in improved flight time.

Hey Guys. First post in the video sticky. Flew four packs today. Still pretty new to the protos but have been flying almost a year in total. The last two packs certainly taught me a lesson. Somehow, the last two packs never charged when I put on charger and I didn't bring my checker to field with me. I ASSumed after 3rd pack came up a minute short that it was a glitch. Then when 4th pack hit LVC after only 2 1/2 minutes I was like WTF. Luckily I've worked on quick landings a bit . Anywho, enjoy! And please feel free to make suggestions and comments

Vid #1 Highlights:

1:30 - Grass Cut - Am I in the Flyin' Low Club now?
2:30 - What about a Flyin' Close Club? ....That said, I didn't expect to come in that close, but it was a nice rush.
3:00-3:30 - My sad still in the works attempt at Tic Tocs. Also an extended set of "grass play"
3:50 - Cool inverted low dipping correction....whatever you call it...I liked it

Vid #2 Highlights:

:30 - Near crash
1:55 - My first IRL attempt at a smidge of inverted backwards circuit action...I pull out quick lol. I can do this no probs on sim, but almost there IRL.
2:15-2:50 - A high bank circuit/funnel routine ending in inverted low quick hover and piro climbout.
3:15-3:30 sample of my "tail issue" and it on brink of keeping up. Looking into an upgrade. Likely a DS760 or similar.
4:25-4:50 - Similar routine circuit as at 2:15, but this one ending with much lower inverted action before the climbout.

Vid #3 Highlights:

This whole pack felt "off" from the start. On top of that it was first time I turned up the expo to 35ish to check it out from my normal levels of 20. The heli felt sluggish and underpowered most of the flight, but I was still comfortable enough to get some grass play action from 1:40-2:00. Felt like a Low Headspeed flight particularly towards the last minute or so....Then the LVC kicked in....

Vid #4 Highlights:

Up till now since my rebuild I've been running the ESC with the governor off. I turned it on prior to this flight so the first bit is me running to 100% headspeed and letting the governor store the rate. Flew nice with the governor back on. This is also my most powerful pack at 65C (nano-tech). Unfortunately, this pack also never charged as thought and hit LVC 2:35 in.

As posted on my micro cyclic servo thread, no more tamed-down governor/agility setup. These TGY-S306G-HV servos were OK fast in my 300X and even faster in my 450DFC but is insane in my Protos stretched.

This is not even close to 12* collective yet, only governed at 2390 HS but no less rpm even at full collective.

Figured since I crashed my Protos 500 today (sort of) I'd post a few vids from today and last night.

First video is a moderately high smack (for me anyway) vid shot with a few buddies watching. Lots of hard stops, piros, punchouts, tail slides, low inverted hover, etc.. And yes, I know my tail needs some work. It's annoying me...slow wag at times and then on hard maneuvers she starts barking like gain too high.

Third video is probably the one everyone wants to see since it has the "crash". It's a crash because I broke a ball link, but otherwise wasn't bad at all. Thankfully I was able to soften the landing with a sloppy auto. Unfortunately, didn't have a ton of headspeed to work with when the belt came off at the bottom HARD stop following a highish speed dive. Guess I stopped too hard . Belt flew off, headspeed already low from hard stop, and worse I had to land on a 45 deg slope. I'd say I got away pretty good
