There are stills of the bracket all over the net, is not a secret.

The reason why the bracket won't work on the plastic version is because there isn't enough space inside the plastic frames for it.

Hmmm. This sounds like an opportunity to make a very good plastic frame even better. Are there any plans to improve the frame? I have a few suggestions.

Judging by the poll in the main forum (https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...highlight=poll), 600 and 700 sizes are just as popular as the 500 size and even more so than the 450 size. So if there is a market, I can't see why a company doesn't want to explore that market segment especially if most of your competitors are going into that market. And because of the design of the Protos (unique, quiet, and cost effective), I would think that MSH could take a significant part of that market share, unless they are the last ones to the table.

Default Luigi Rungi tests the new 470 blades stretch kit

Basically the carbon frame is needed for the extra pinion support (like in logos). But maybe it can be' used without too since the protos pinion works with belt and not with a gear contact. I don't think the belt can bent the pinion for damage, do you?

Is it possible that a poll on HeliFreak may not represent the potential market for a new heli?

Would you be prepared to wager that 600's and 700's sell as many units as 450s?

Let's let the businesses like MSH do their own business... they have to factor in the competitive price points, their profit margins at their costs and those price points, the impact of shipping costs on the number of units they'll move, the money they will make on parts supply, and a lot of other stuff.

These guys appear to have bootstrapped a plastic paddles/gear business into a successful heli kit & parts business, and an incredibly strong brand, with solid distribution (as compared to Mikado, for example, with just one source in the US).

They know very well that a lot of us would love a larger Protos, and they also know, better than we do, what the profit outlook would be.

Maybe rather than advising them on the secrets to success in the heli business, we should be taking notes.

if it was stated earlier, Sorry I have not read the entire thread, but,

Is it being said that the stretch kit will NOT work on the plastic frame kits?

That is correct. The stretch kit contains a pinion support that only works with the CF frame.

Hi Corrado,
Will you offer a bigger canopy for the stretch kit so I can fit 3300 or 3600 6s batteries?

That seems like the ideal size for a heli swinging 470mm blades. And would also compliment a 12s Logo perfectly.

Corrado, I know you dislike me and ignore all my posts, but please don't make me put a Logo 400 canopy on my Protos. I want my Protos to look Italian, not German.

I do not ignore anyone's post, just i think the perfect battery for the stretch is the 3000 and it fits under the canopy.

I guess the longer tail will help to balance the heli with the 3000mAh packs.

I run 3000 now, and get 5 minutes at 2800 RPM. I'm just guessing, but I'll probably get 4 minutes on 470's at 2600 RPM. So 3300-3600 would be ideal, and they may even balance on the stretch.

Corrado, what's the heaviest battery you think will balance? Can I get 580g to work? If so, this would be a rockin 5:30m 3d setup.

When I was breaking in 6s 3600mAh packs in my Sniper2 I was running about 1900rpm headspeed and flying gentle circuits for 14 mins. You wouldn't be able to hard 3D at this headspeed but it would cope with loops and rolls. The flight time quickly drops as you increase the headspeed. 2800rpm gets me only 6 mins but it has evil performance. All with 470mm blades of course.

Hi Terrabit!

The green canopy you see in the picture is just a plug,
i'm just about to wetsand and polish it, and then make the molds,
unfortunately you have to wait some weeks to get canopys!

My canopys will be made of 2 layers of 105gr. satin fibreglass cloth
and epoxi with some reinforces around the edges, expected weight
around 30-35gr. (unpainted)!

i'll get back when i have some finished, have a nice weekend,
