Exclamation Tail gear holder question

Hi guys,
I am trying to remove the tail gear holder from the boom. Is it CA'd aside from the little screw that hold's it? I am having a real hard time removing it, and do not want to damage it.
Any tips?

Thanks,
Steve

i tried to get mine off once before but it is really tight, i never got it off but i did notice if you look were the bearing is in the end of the boom it looks like the boom is swelled on the end and i think that is why it is so hard to get off..i stopped trying because i didn't want to break the plastic end then have to wait on parts to get here..i did get the gear holder to slide forward but it just wouldn't come over were the bearing is at on the end...i don't know if you have to remove the bearing first or not...

Thanks for the insight on this Magicmarty!

I read your post this morning, went to work and got a nice piece of hardwood about 6"x2"x1", drilled an 8.25mm hole near the end on the flat, clamped it in a vice then slid the boom into the hole until it contacted the base of the gear housing. Then I gripped the boom carefully with my hands and gave a sharp tug and the gear case popped right off!

I think by holding both pieces and trying too pull them apart I was not applying force in the right area.
