I ran a 2100mAh LiFe on both my E5 and E7 for a while. It was small enough to be able to position easily and still gave several flights.

Pulse 2550mah 2s in my setup as well on 6s. I've really been happy with it and like the safety factor vs BEC on a heli this big.

Hyperion 2200 2s LiFe. Sits on top of the front flight pack. Using one of Ralph's battery trays (they need to exist again ), but the same theory could apply with stick packs or strapping in two bricks.

Before that, OP, I had been using that same 3000mAh hyperion pack in the same spot. Fit perfect on top of a 3.3Ah flight pack.

Same here. I get 3 flights out of one with my E7SE.

I've actually found that it works best for CG purposes for me if I just have it strapped to the top of the flight pack. I then just have an EC3 harness for it that runs it back to the ikon. I've seen pictures of folks running them in both places so don't think there's a wrong place for it necessarily.

On the RX packs is the 1 wire sufficient for HV set up? I read on another post that 2 wires were better than 1 for adequate power to the FBL system. ON THE pulse RX packs looks as though they only have 1. Curious as I've been contemplating getting rid of my BEC

You can make a wiring harness with two servo connectors and an EC3 (or whatever connector you want to use) and run power from the main power leads on the battery pack.

Yeah like this? https://www.spektrumrc.com/Products/...odID=SPMYHEC36

On the Pulse RX pack looks like it only has one see here: http://www.helidirect.com/plurx-2550...es-p-26537.hdx

What do you all do with HV set up?

I am running a 2cell 2500 mah lipo for my rx pack. I have it plugging into my wr super bec pro with power bus. It has an option for 8 or 8.4 volts HV setup on the bec I believe. I haven't looked at the dip switches on it in about a year or two now. Great for delivering the voltage and current to a hv setup.

I have two of those and they do only have one servo-type connector. I'm using mine on my nitro helis and I plug them into a power switch. I would just use that adapter you posted that link to.

This is what I do, too on my hv setup. Actually, I did it this way on my lv setup also.
*Spyder 2200 lipo RX pack > ec3 harness into 2 servo leads > fbl unit.

There are variations of this depending on your equipment and desired levels of redundancy.
