Someone told me a hyperion (same as scorpion) 2221-1630kv would be too fast for a Mini P. I'm guessing 2010kv would give insanely fast head speeds.

The 2221-2010 is the 4 series motor. The problem is if you buy the scorp version you are gonna have to change the motor shaft so it will work with required msh pinions with one way bearing. The msh 2010 kv motor is the same as scorp but has the correct shaft for the pinions!! And yes the 1630kv motor is no good on the mini for 6 series. The mini requires a 1300kv motor for 6s packs. The mini uses a 120 tooth main gear. Now an answer to OP. No the motor is not to powerfull but is meant to be used with a 4s pack but why buy the scorp and then have to change the motor shaft ??? The adapter shaft for regular short shaft scorps is a discontinued piece of history as are the pinions to be used on it.

The 2010 is the Protos 4s.
The 1630Kv is too much for 6s operation on the Mini as it runs 1300Kv 6s.

unfortuanetly no it will not work on 6s in the mini Again the 2010kv motor is a 4series for the mini. The mini uses a 120 tooth main gear. Also the adapter shaft you speak of is nodda, out of production It is history because it just caused way to many vibe problems

I forgot about the 4s option for the mini.

Donangelo you should definitely stick with the 6s setup. I know the 6s motor is out of stock almost everywhere. Check this thread for links to in stock 6s 1300kv motors. The one in Hong Kong is probably the best bet for cheap shipping.

One option is rewind motor for correct kv, gmauro & _Dekker in Europe are doing that. There is some Henseleit, Banshee and Diabolo guys in states doing it too.
I'm still learning to do it as extending this hobby.
