I've received permission from the real boss (wife) and from my work boss (also my flying buddy) to be there on Friday and will stay until Saturday around dark:30. I'll have my trusty Pantera 50 FBL with me and hope to have a stretched e-Pantera (700 class) in a Jet Ranger fuselage by the time I get there.Gonna be cutting it close on the scaler, but with a little help from Darrell Sprayberry, maybe we can knock it out!

Looking forward to seeing some of the pros do their thing, and looking forward to Playing in the Pond (far right side of the flight line) while the hot shots Feed the Ditch! Some of you guys are crazy in that ditch! What did that ditch ever do to you? Oh wait... I remember now

I hope there will be at least one vendor there with some classic Helifreak Caps for sale. MIne is 2 years old now and well faded. Also time for a new color neck strap and I hope the lady who was doing the embroidery on the straps will be there as well!

This will be my 3rd trip to B-ham and I'm extremely pumped about this year's event! 1st time I was a spectator, last year I managed to fly 4 flights with Gus spotting for me and doing a great job of keeping my nerves in check I'll still be counting on Gus for immoral.. err.. moral support, but plan on getting in a good 10-12 flights over the two days!

If any of your electro converts have a few gallons of 20 or 30% heli blend still sitting around taking up space, I'm always a sucker for a good deal on fuel!

See y'all there!

Havent been in a long time but going to make it this year. Will be nice to see old friends again. And feeding another heli to the hungry ditch will be fun too.

That is a nice hotel. It is located on Hwy 150 about 10 miles from the event. Hwy 150 is exit 10 on I-459 and get off to go to the event at exit 6 on I-459. Lots of food places in that area.

Just curious. You have a discount or special rate you can use there is the reason you chose Hyatt Place?

Default Pilot Head Count for Friday Evening.

We're (Timmy & Mr. HillBilly) are bringing some Beef Tenderloins (wrapped in bacon of coarse) and Mr. Whiteside has given a nod to use his cooking machinery on the RV.

How many Pilots are planning on being there Friday?

Trying to get a feel so no ones gets left-out for some chow.

BTW - any who want to bring a side would be cool/suggested (PM please so I can coordinate).

If we all behave...maybe there will be some Jambalaya for Saturday Evening.

Greetings
Counting down till the event. It is 3 weeks away. Weather here this winter has been fantastic in Central Alabama. Our coldest temp has been like 22 degs and that only happened couple weeks ago for one day. Temps during the day have been in the 50's to 70's. The forecast thru March 3rd has temps in the high 60's daily. Have had some rain every few days, but not really constant. Had some tornados a few weeks ago. Looks like the weather is stablizing now. Trees are starting to put on new leaves and flowers have been blooming for a few weeks now.
Looking forward to seeing everyone that is able to attend this year. The event will be just like past events. Laid back and lots of flying and socializing with friends that you may not have seen during the winter.
See you soon

David Harkey
